Frolicking Phonies

We’ve heard nonstop about how dangerous Coronavirus is and how we must maintain social distance and only leave the house when absolutely necessary. As it turns out, not everyone’s “absolutely necessary” is the same. While we plebs are expected to sit on our hands, the elite are out there doing as they please. From Rep. Harley Rouda (D-CA) frolicking on the beach and former President Barack Obama going out for golf to the U.K.’s Dr. Neil Ferguson staying home — with another man’s wife — these leftist bad boys appear to have very different necessities.

Liberty Nation’s Joe Schaeffer explained the phenomenon:

“The entitled personages who make up our modern-day big-government nomenklatura obviously believe that rules are meant ony for the masses, who must be carefully herded like animals for the greater good of society. After all, one doesn’t expect a rancher to be penned up with his cattle. And so as we are forced to bunker down in our sun-deprived rooms as summer approaches, Americans get the added bonus of witnessing utterly shameless displaces of what would be labeled hypocrisy from on high if only those invovled actually believed that the restrictiosn they impose on their fellow citizens applied to them.”

What to Watch for

Even with lockdown easing up across the nation, there are still restrictions in place. Don’t be surprised when more stories of the global elite ignoring their own rules with impunity pop up even as regular folk are fined and arrested for doing the same.

Fake News From CBS

What’s more important: pushing the narrative along or actually safeguarding the health and safety of Americans? Well, if you’re a certain news agency, that question seems to have an easy answer. When CBS showed up to film the folks at Cherry Health – Heart of the City Health Center in Grand Rapids, MI providing testing for the public, they found that only a few people were actually there to get tested. Well, that’s not exciting news! The solution? Just have the employees of the hospital hop in their cars and line up for fake testing. But what about those few who do show up for real? Well, they’ll just have to wait their turn in line — even if it is a fake line.

Liberty Nation’s Kelli Ballard wrote:

“For the one or two legitimate patients, their drive-through testing was delayed as all the ‘props’ had to be arranged for the perfect angle and imagery.”

What to Watch for

Summer is coming and more people will soon be out and about. Rather than allowing life to return more or less to normal, it’s quite likely the big box media will root out more ways to sensationalize. Let’s just hope none of those stories involves meddling in the way hospitals do business.

• The next stage of the Coronavirus fight — and the effort to monitor and control the public at large — is here. State governments are building armies of contract tracers to map out the coming and going of state citizens who may have been exposed to the virus. Those believed likely to be exposed will be isolated, by force if necessary. In addition to the obvious liberty concern, this is also causing the government in general to bloat. California alone plans for a force of 10,000 state employees dedicated to contact tracing.
