The intense build-up, the wild speculations, and the months-long play-calling by social media political provocateurs has led to the biggest reveal in election 2020. It’s much akin to the opening of Al Capone’s vault by Geraldo Rivera. The DNC has anointed a woman of color to run side-by-side with the hair-sniffing, hairy-legged, old, white king of gaffe and confusion – the one and only Joe Biden. Welcome back to the stage, Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA).
She’s a Two Percenter
Kamala made a name for herself on the national stage when she tried her skills at eviscerating Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. She is smart and politically savvy, a ruthless progressive partisan rearing to slay any and all conservative thinking. And she has an impressive record of imprisoning 127,000 blacks and Hispanics as California’s attorney general.
Flyover folks thought the irony was a hoot – and well worth the time to discuss it, to boot. Most folks remember little to nothing about the very first presidential debate in June 2019 – well, except that Harris called Biden out on his shady past of race relations. She made it personal, beginning with the delicious line, “I do not believe you are a racist … but …” Then she followed up with:
“And I—I was actually very—it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on segregation of race in this country. And it was not only that, but you also worked with them to oppose bussing.”
As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. Biden’s record on race relations is beyond sub-par, but Kamala’s isn’t much better. Her old ways of lock ‘em up and throw the key – even denying DNA testing that could prove innocence – are old news. And now, her family’s ties to slavery might poke themselves out of the long-buried family secrets crypt. Hoosier Darryl Herbertz reminded folks: “Even black radicals know she is not down with the struggle. What did you expect as her family owned a Sugar Slave Plantation in Jamaica!”
As Likeable as Hillary
Did the Democratic National Committee purposely choose a woman with a junkyard dog persona to take on Trump? It’s not as if Biden wants to leave his basement any time soon. There’s another question on the minds of country folks: “Is Biden even going to make it to Election Day?” One political observer, Linda Spitzer-Moser in Farmington, NM, has her doubts: “There will be at least one replacement to the ticket before November.”
And she wasn’t the only person seeing a Democratic scam in progress. From Chicago, dodging murder and mayhem, Dave Vance was less cryptic: “If they win, she will be president in a year. That is the plan, in my opinion. Keep that in mind when voting.”
But Hoosier Pat Adams took a different view: “Love it! … soon she will be a failed presidential candidate AND a failed vice-presidential candidate! Couldn’t happen to a nastier person.”
And for the second consecutive week, not one heartlander uttered the words, “Bless her heart.”
