Welcome to Liberty Nation’s live election 2022 updates. We’ll be keeping track of all the major races, the happenings, and the predictions. 

Update: 11:30 PM

Fox News projects that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer will beat her Republican challenger, Tudor Dixon, though the AP has not called it yet. With 34% of the vote in, Whitmer leads Dixon 51.7% to 46.7%. With 64% of the vote reported in New York, Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul leads Lee Zeldin 55.2% to 44.8%, and Fox News projects she will win.

Republican Jen Kiggans has been declared winner in Virginia’s House District 2. In District 7, Fox and AP have called for Democrat Abigail Spanberger, who leads Republican Yesli Vega 51.9% to 48.1% with 98% reporting. The District 10 House race has also been called by several outlets for Democrat Jennifer Wexton, who leads Republican Hung Cao 52.9% to 47.1% with 98% reporting.

With 46% of votes counted and reported, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) seems likely to retain his seat, defeating Republican Jo Rae Perkins 55.6% – 41.9%.

Fox has also projected New Hampshire’s Senate race will go to Democrat incumbent Maggie Hassan, who, with 49% of the vote reported, leads Republican challenger Donald Bolduc 55% to 42.9%.

In Ohio, Republican J.D. Vance has been declared the winner by several news outlets after increasing his lead on Democrat Tim Ryan 53.6% to 46.4% with 88% reporting. Ryan conceded shortly thereafter.

Georgia’s gubernatorial race has been called for incumbent Republican Brian Kemp, who beat Democrat challenger Stacey Abrams 54.1% to 45.2% with 84%. In a departure from her norm, Stacey Abrams has conceded.

Republican J.D. Vance holds a lead of more than 110,000 votes over Democrat Tim Ryan, 53.9% to 46.1%, with 81% reporting.

Fox and other outlets have called the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race for Democrat Josh Shapiro, who leads Republican Doug Mastriano 55.1% to 43.1% with 59% reporting. But the Senate race is still too close to call with 60% reporting. Democrat John Fetterman leads Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz 49.7% to 47.9%.

Republican J.D. Vance has taken the lead in Ohio’s Senate race with 69% reporting. He leads Democrat Tim Ryan 54% to 46%.

Fox News and the Associated Press have called the Senate race in Missouri for Republican Eric Schmitt. With 33% of the vote tallied, Schmitt leads Democrat Trudy Busch Valentine 55.3% to 42.3%.

Results are just coming in from Arizona, and the story is changing rapidly. With 7% reported, Republican Blake Masters was leading the incumbent, Democrat Mark Kelley, 54.6% to 42.8%. Just a minute later, however, Kelly had the lead 56.4% to 41.3% with 41% reporting. In the governor’s race, Democrat Katie Hobbs leads Republican Kari Lake 55.5% to 44.5% with 38% reported.

Fox and NBC both project SD Governor Kristi Noem will defeat Democrat challenger Jamie Smith. With 15% of the vote tallied, the race sits at 60.9% to 36.5% in Noem’s favor.

Herschel Walker pulled ahead in Georgia, leading Sen. Warnock 49.7% to 48.4% with 65% reporting. Libertarian Chase Oliver holds a mere 1.9% with 56,492 votes.

With 48% of the vote reported, Republican Tina Forte seems to have failed to unseat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Rep. Ocasio-Cortez leads 71.1% to 27%, and numerous news outlets have called the race.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) maintains a healthy lead of 61.5% over Republican challenger Chris Palombi’s 38.5% with 31% reporting. The race has been called by The New York Times, CNN, and NBC.

Raphael Warnock maintains his razor-thin lead in Georgia’s Senate race over Republican contender Herschel Walker, 50.2% to 48% with 60% reporting.

A judge in Maricopa County, AZ denied the GOP’s lawsuit to extend poll hours and delay the release of early ballot numbers on Election Day, rejecting the notion that people in Arizona’s largest county were denied their ability to vote due to tabulation machine issues.

The Texas gubernatorial race has been called by Fox for Republican incumbent Greg Abbott, who leads Democrat Beto O’Rourke 53.1% to 45.6% with 43% reporting.

Fox projects Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) will win his re-election. Lankford currently leads Democrat contender Madison Horn 66.1% to 30.4% with 50% reporting.

Charlie Crist has given his concession speech after the race was called for Ron DeSantis. Gov. DeSantis delivered his acceptance speech shortly after.

With 58% of the votes tallied and reported, Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp has overtaken Democrat Stacey Abrams with a slight lead of 51.7% to 47.7%

In Georgia’s hotly contested Senate race, incumbent Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker have been edging past each other back and forth by a slim margin. With 57% of precincts reporting, Warnock currently holds the lead 50.9% to 47.3%.

Arkansas goes to Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who will be first woman to serve as governor of the Natural State. She has 54.5% of the vote to Democrat Chris Jones’ 43.3% with 17% of precincts reporting.

Illinois has been called, with 7% reporting, for incumbent Governor JB Pritzker, who currently holds 61.3% of the vote to Republican challenger Darren Bailey’s 36%.

With 12% of the vote in, Vermont is being called for incumbent Republican Governor Phil Scott. He currently holds 73.8% of the vote compared to Democrat Brenda Siegel’s 21.7%.

The race has been called for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) with  57.06% – 3,454,862 votes again Charlie Crist (D) on 42.3% – 2,562,097. This was called with 72% reporting.

In North Carolina, Democrat Cheri Beasley leads Ted Budd 54.83% to 43.51%, with 37% of the vote counted.

Representative Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R) wins re-election to the U.S. House in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio is outpacing Democrats challenger Val Demings by 54.83% vs. 44.06%, with 67% of the vote counted.

Numerous outlets predict Republican Gov. Mike DeWine will win reelection in Ohio.

Senate races have been called for the GOP in South Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Polls have now closed in North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida takes an early lead against Democrat challenger Charlie Crist: 51.76% vs. 47.61%. Notably, at present, Miami Dade appears to be trending red.

Fox and CNN have both called South Carolina for Republican incumbent Senator Tim Scott.

A number of locations around the country are reporting issues with voting tabulators; some polling stations have been granted extended voting times as a result.

The first election result of the day comes in from Guam, where voters backed James Moylan (R) over Judi Won Pat (D) to win the race to be Guam’s non-voting delegate to Congress. Guam has not returned a Republican since 1993. As reported by Guam Pacific Daily News, “Moylan earned 52.19% of the votes counted to Won Pat’s 47.15%.”

Former President Donald Trump unleashed on the internet when reports of voting machine malfunctions in Arizona swept the internet. “Can this possibly be true when a vast majority of Republicans waited for today to Vote? Here we go again? The people will not stand for it!!!” Trump wrote on his TruthSocial platform.
