An effort to Dump Disney is gathering steam nationwide. Sources close to Liberty Nation say the International Organization for the Family (IOF) is seeking signatures to protest Disney’s “grooming of young children,” according to an email that made landfall Feb. 27. CEO Brian S. Brown is asking for active participation from parents across the country to sign a petition to stop Disney’s “more radical [embrace of] gender ideology and the LGBTQIA agenda.” The IOF is co-sponsoring the movement, which will “trigger an email in [parents’] name to be sent to Disney Chair Robert Iger.” Thus, it seems the mammoth children’s entertainment organization’s troubles are far from over.
The pro-family group objects to a partnership with “the notorious San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus to produce concerts in where gay men will perform songs from Disney movies while telling kids in the audience about gay love and ‘LGBT+ pride.’” According to IOF, the chorus published a video in 2021 informing viewers that “we will convert your children … quietly and subtly” to LGBT ideology and “you will barely notice it.”
Brown’s message also noted that “[r]ecent Disney movies and television productions prominently feature same-sex romances” and maintains a “team of creators is working to add queerness in all programming areas.”
Dumping Disney
This comes on the heels of a recently published book by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis that outlined a meaningful discussion between former Disney CEO Bob Chapek and the governor. In The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for American Revival, DeSantis related a conversation he had with Chapek described in WDW News Today:
“’As the controversy over the Parental Rights in Education bill was coming to a head,’ DeSantis writes, ‘Chapek called me. He did not want Disney to get involved, but he was getting a lot of pressure to weigh in against the bill.’ According to DeSantis, Chapek said, ‘We get pressured all the time. But this time is different. I haven’t seen anything like this before.’
“DeSantis told Chapek that if Disney stayed out of the situation, they would only face 48 hours of outrage when the bill passed. ‘Then there will be some new outrage that the woke mob will focus on,’ he said, ‘and people will forget about this issue, especially considering the outrage is directed at a political-media narrative, not the actual text of the legislation itself.’”
Nevertheless, Chapek “ultimately caved to leftist media and activist pressure and pressed the false narrative against the bill.”

Meanwhile, the Reedy Creek bill passed in the Florida Senate easily with a vote of 26 to 9, and DeSantis signed the legislation yesterday (Feb. 27). The measure strips the entertainment company of its longtime self-rule and establishes a Central Florida Tourism Oversight Board, which will be appointed by the governor. Also, because of this new law, Disney World will lose its special property tax-exemption status.
“Today, the corporate kingdom finally comes to an end,” DeSantis said Monday, Feb. 27, at the signing ceremony in Reedy Creek, FL. “There’s a new sheriff in town and accountability will be the order of the day.”
“Disney came out against something that was really just about protecting young kids, and making sure that students are able to go to school learning to read, write, add, subtract, and not having a teacher tell them that they can change their gender,” the governor continued. “And I think most parents agree with that. But you know, that was only a mild annoyance. I think that what we came to realize after that dust settled on that was you clearly had a movement within the corporation itself.”
Despite all this, Disney appears undaunted and persists in its anti-traditional family values agenda. In December, Disney released the movie Strange World, “which features the entertainment giant’s first openly LGBT lead character in an animated film, a queer teenage boy openly attracted to another boy,” according to International Family News.
Thus, it appears Disney is gunning to become the poster child of the “go woke, go broke” movement, which is pushing back in both subtle and obvious ways to curb the private enterprise mission to sexually educate children worldwide. Apparently, the woke folk at Disney feel it is their raison d’etre to influence children about sexual practices and preferences rather than merely entertain them. But their persistence will come at a cost.
