As all of America now knows, the high-ranking official who unmasked the Trump team in intelligence reports was none other than Susan Rice. Since this puts the Obama administration in a very bad position — and completely destroys the minuscule shred of credibility Rice still had among those who, against all logic, believe Benghazi was a spontaneous attack — the establishment media is in full gear.
Are they digging into the story? Are they seeking truth? Of course not. We live in Bizarro World, in which the media’s greatest skill is not exposing corruption but taking part in it; they do not seek to report facts and truth, but to create a narrative. As Susan Rice’s ample posterior hangs out in the breeze, CNN’s Don Lemon can’t find a blanket to cover her fast enough. Twitchy has the transcript of Lemon’s fit of fawning:
And last week, it was a debunked talking point that former Obama Administration official Evelyn Farkas admitted spying on the Trump team. She did no such thing. The week before that, it was Representative Devin Nunes’ clumsy effort to give the President cover for the wiretapping claim. The President said he was vindicated by Nunes. He was not. The ‘Washington Post’ today calls the latest claims about Susan rice an anatomy of a fake scandal, ginned up by right-wing media and Trump. So let’s be very clear about this. There is no evidence whatsoever that the Trump team was spied on illegally. There is no evidence that backs up the President’s original claim. On this program tonight, we will not insult your intelligence by pretending otherwise, nor will we aid and abet the people trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion. Not going to do it.
The only problem, of course, is that it’s not a diversion — it’s fact — and no amount of Don Lemon’s heel-clicking and wishing will take him to a place where it’s not. Susan Rice did, in fact, request that people associated with Trump — who were “masked,” or redacted in the intelligence reports — be unmasked, or have their names revealed. She then passed that information — names and more — to the big-wigs in the intelligence community, with no thought for the Constitutional rights of those exposed, the limits of her position, or anything else. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) bluntly said she “abused the system for political purposes,” and even the liberal sites are forced to report on it.
One would think that all this would be a smorgasbord for the establishment media as it has all the trappings of a huge news story. The former administration official, breaking both the Constitution and federal law to abuse her position and the privacy of American citizens by asking for information she knew she had no cause to demand on people from the incoming administration’s campaign. Folks, that is a news story. Instead of covering it, however, the media is choosing to cover for the criminals involved.
Until the left-wing establishment media decides to actually do their job, instead of acting like pathetic puppet henchmen of the left, the American people will be forced to dig for their own truth — because the media hasn’t offered truth in a long time.
