Like the Grinch paused precariously at the mountain peak with his sleigh full of ill-gotten gains purloined from the Whos down in Whoville, China is now poised on the very precipice of international hegemony. They spent decades stealing the West’s intellectual property, but the Chinese have also been collecting the world’s DNA, as it turns out. What could China possibly want with our DNA – and how did they get it?
According to The Coming Collapse of China author Gordon Chang, the Chinese have the largest global DNA database, with over 80 million health profiles. He warns that the ascendant CCP (Chinese Communist Party) plans to use this wealth of information to make designer bio-weapons capable of targeting the specific vulnerabilities of various ethnic groups. Chang recently stated that:
“The coronavirus is not the last pathogen that will be generated from Chinese soil. And so we’ve got to be concerned that the next disease is more transmissible and more deadly than the novel coronavirus.”
Stealing Your DNA
Chang is considered one of the leading authorities on China’s concerted efforts to dominate globally across the economic and military domains. He reminds us that the CCP already allegedly collects its own citizens’ DNA to track dissidents, expedite police action, and weaponize science in the service of the world’s most Orwellian surveillance state.
Chang asserts that there are three primary ways in which China has managed to gather such a robust database of DNA from American citizens. It has bought many American companies that have DNA profiles, it has subsidized DNA analysis for ancestry registries, and it has an impressive arsenal of hackers.
In 2019 a federal grand jury indicted two hackers from a notorious and sophisticated PRC (People’s Republic of China) group responsible for the theft of the records of nearly 80 million Anthem insurance members. To this day, it is considered the foremost known health care hack in history, and it means that our greatest international rival has access to the intimate details of the health of all those millions of Americans compromised by the hack.
Armed with this information, and in conjunction with its growing archive of DNA profiles, the possibilities for an array of nefarious actions against civilian populations by China must be seriously considered.
Bio-Weapons?
Gordon Chang further asserts that dominating the biotechnology industry is so important to China that the nation explicitly included it as part of its “Made in China 2025” initiative. But his worry is that while China is collecting DNA from foreigners by any means necessary, it is prohibiting other countries from doing the same with Chinese citizens. This, he believes, is not consistent with a country that wants to cooperate with other nations, but with one that is seeking to develop crippling, even devastating bio-weaponry.
Chang leaves the question unanswered as to whether COVID-19 is itself a bio-weapon developed in a lab in Wuhan, stating:
“People have said biological weapons don’t work. Well, we do know they work because we had the coronavirus, which may or may not have been a biological weapon, but we do know that it crippled the United States, and that’s what Beijing is really looking for.”
China has repeatedly and strenuously denied that the coronavirus originated in a Wuhan lab. And with everyone from the World Health Organization, to the NBA, to CNN, to Joe Biden and the Democratic Party running interference for the CCP, we may never know whether that’s true or not.
