On July 10, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) Introduced articles of impeachment against two Supreme Court justices, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas. Both the conservative justices have been the targets of various allegations of unethical conduct from Democrats and left-leaning media sources.
In a statement, the New York progressive spoke of an “unchecked corruption crisis” on the Supreme Court. Referring directly to Thomas and Alito, she said their “pattern of refusal to recuse from consequential matters before the court in which they hold widely documented financial and personal entanglements constitutes a grave threat to American rule of law, the integrity of our democracy, and one of the clearest cases for which the tool of impeachment was designed."
