Trump: ISIS Leader Chased Down by Dogs and Died Like One

The so-called number one terrorist leader and founder of ISIS was hunted down by American Special Forces last evening and “died like a dog,” according to President Donald Trump. In a secret military operation, the compound of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was raided by a squadron from Delta Force and chased the founder of ISIS into a tunnel where he detonated a suicide vest and blew himself to smithereens.

“He died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering and crying and screaming all the way,” said Trump in televised remarks early Sunday morning. Eight US helicopters descended on the al-Baghdadi property and blasted their way into the compound with canine units leading the way. The successful raid was described by the president as “absolutely perfect, as though you were watching a movie.”

Mr. Trump singled out U.S. intelligence officials as instrumental in the operation and used the event to send a signal to Islamic terrorists. “These savage monsters will not escape their fate,” asserted Trump, “and they will not escape the final judgment of God.”

When al-Baghdadi pulled the detonator in his vest, he killed three children who were in the tunnel with him. “The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him,” the president said.

One canine was injured in the military operation. No U.S. troops were wounded.

Who is al-Baghdadi?

Al-Baghdadi burst onto the scene back in 2014 as the self-proclaimed head of the ISIS caliphate. From his secret perch, the caliph then for half a decade inspired terrorist attacks. Aware of his activities but unable to catch up with him, the U.S. put a $25M bounty on the terrorist leader.

While personal details are sketchy, Al-Baghdadi is thought to have been born in Samarra, Iraq, in 1971. He was a mosque leader back in 2003 when the U.S. invaded Iraq and brought down the government of Saddam Hussein. In 2010 he was considered the head of the Iraqi al-Qaida terrorist group.

While Russians claimed to have killed al-Baghdadi back in 2017, U.S. intelligence forces continued to track the ISIS leader’s whereabouts. The ensuing years were filled with unconfirmed sightings and unverified videos of Baghdadi.

The secret operation approved by the president comes on the heels of a U.S. troop withdrawal announcement from Syria. The president’s decision to remove American military servicemen and women from “endless wars” met with stiff opposition by Democrats and some Republicans. While it is still early in the public announcement of the operation, there has, thus far, been little response from the Dems regarding this successful Delta Force raid.
