WaPo Political Reporter Officially Joins The Resistance

by | Nov 22, 2017 | Establishment Media

This really should come as no surprise. We live in a time when the big newspaper and television journalists have all but sworn allegiance to the Democratic party. But occasionally they do something stupid – very stupid — to out themselves. One such case is The Washington Post’s, Janell Ross.

A supposed objective journalist who covers politics for WaPo has been outed by The Washington Free Beacon as just another political hack with a J-school degree – from Vassar and Columbia no less.  It seems Ms. Ross was a featured speaker at a hush-hush progressive cabal in Carlsbad, California. The purpose of the lefty get-together was to strategize the next moves of The Resistance.

Ms. Ross obtained a speaking slot right behind lefty extraordinaire George Soros. According to the Beacon, who obtained a copy of The Democratic Alliance meeting agenda, “Ross sat on a panel to assist conference-goers on the topic of ‘getting the economic narrative right’ in future elections.”

Well, well, well: there goes any prayer of journalistic integrity when one is working to determine a democratic “narrative” for one of the two major political parties in America.

Meanwhile, the folks at The Post seem shocked – yes, shocked – by their reporter’s participation in such a partisan affair. Goodness me, they claimed to The Beacon:

“The Washington Post policy discourages participation in any activity that could be perceived as partisan,” the spokesperson said. “She has been reminded of that.”

Could it be that Ms. Ross received a slap on the hand by The Post? And really, is it even fair to her to do that considering the atmosphere at The Post, which has almost literally become an arm of the progressive movement in general and the Democratic party in specific? Dost they protest too much?

In a biography, the WaPo “reporter” cites a litany of “journalistic” credentials:

“Janell Ross is a freelance journalist in New York City who covers social and political issues. She has written about race, criminal justice, poverty, unemployment, immigration, gentrification, the state of the social safety net, politics as well as local, state and national policy for The Huffington Post, USA Today, The Root, The Tennessean, The News & Observer and the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. You know, all the happy stuff.”

The “happy stuff” indeed – telling the rest of us little people what to think and how to think rather than just the facts. This type of activity would be nauseating if it weren’t so prevalent in today’s esteemed Fourth Estate. Gone is any semblance of objectivity. Unfortunately for them, the little people have caught on. They understand the game and get the point. Perhaps this is why they aren’t buying the drivel from places like The Post any longer.

Here’s the real kicker: Ms. Ross is still covering politics and such for The Post. Among her recent articles: “Welfare queens and red-blooded Americans: How Russia tapped into our racial anxieties to fuel social divisions” and “There’s an important lesson Democrats should learn from Election Day 2017.” Can’t you just wait to feast your eyes on such impartial reporting?

In a way, it’s not fair to subject Ms. Ross to denigration. After all, she’s merely following the lead of dozens of other “journalists” in her field. As well, she is being given a huge forum to publish her leftist narratives, thoughts, and theories at places like The Washington Post. Sure, the powers that be at WaPo can play the part of the unwitting employer of a reporter gone rogue, but the truth of the matter is that they are essentially getting what they really want: a partisan who disguises themselves as a journalist.

For shame.
