George Washington once said, “Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.” In order to grow, plants need food. And so each week, Liberty Nation plans to give you some ideological food for thought as we feature a few websites that you should experience and read. These sites span the entire liberty spectrum, and whether you agree with them or not, they are most certainly worth a peek as well as bookmarking to read again later. We also encourage you to point us to websites you’re reading below in our comments section. So here are the two that top LN’s list this week:
Claire Wolfe – If you don’t know who Claire Wolfe is, you’re missing out. Claire writes on freedom topics; while she’s never been accused of being part of the GOP, she’s a longtime activist and writer on topics ranging from gun rights to living the liberty lifestyle. While she’s slowed down on her professional writing, she has many years of liberty thought on her site, and there is always something interesting and informative to read. She’ll also be featured in the upcoming documentary Lies of Omission, which exposes media bias about gun ownership and the loss of freedom in America. All in all, Claire Wolfe is someone you should know. Here’s a snippet to whet your appetite from Ms. Wolfe:
You know how hard it was, not to jump in yesterday (or today for that matter) and blog about WikiLeaks latest? Ohhhh, the temptation! Despite cynical freedomista proclamations that Assange and his glorious company have merely told us what we already knew, there is soooooo much here that’s truly new. From CIA hacking tools sloppily revealed to insider details on the power shift from NSA to CIA to the degree of Congress’…
Robert Stacy McCain is our other LN featured writer this week. His site, The Other McCain, is a wildly irreverent look at a lot of topics that many others won’t talk about. Banned from Twitter for his honesty (what Twitter calls “abusive hate speech” and other terms), McCain is hard-hitting, blunt, and always worth reading. This will give you an idea of just who this interesting fellow is:
Robert Stacy McCain is a veteran journalist and conservative commentator who is also a public speaker, author and communications consultant. He is a frequent contributor to The American Spectator and is co-author (with Lynn Vincent) of Donkey Cons: Sex, Crime, and Corruption in the Democratic Party (2006, Nelson Current).
So click on over to Claire and McCain for some good reads. And be sure to tune in next week for new freedom-loving sites you should know about. And remember to add your two cents about Wolfe & McCain as well as other sites we should know about in our comments section.
And don’t ever forget these inspiring words from President John Adams:
