McDonald v. Chicago

Ruling in McDonald v. Chicago, on June 28, 2010, the majority opinion declared that “the Fourteenth Amendment incorporates the Second Amendment right, recognized in Heller, to keep and bear arms for the purpose of self-defense.”

The question presented was:

“[W]hether the right to keep and bear arms applies to the States under the Due Process Clause.”
