Illegal Immigration is more than just a political talking point; the left seems determined to make us an open-border country no matter the cost. Each week, Liberty Nation recognizes the Americans who must pay it.
Week of April 5-11
Girl Killed While Riding Bicycle to School
Polk County, FL
A 13-year-old girl was riding her bicycle on her way to school when she was struck down by an illegal immigrant driving without a license. The victim, Mariana Perez Borroto of Kissimmee, was an eighth-grade student at Lake Marion Creek Middle School. She was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando, where she later died of her injuries.
The suspect, 25-year-old Micaela Coronel, is from Argentina. She told authorities she was in the U.S. on a “visitor pass” since October 2018. Although she had an Argentinian identification card, the immigrant did not have a valid driver’s license. Coronel told law enforcement that the windshield of the Chrysler Town & Country minivan she’d been driving had approximately 80% condensation covering it, obstructing her view.
It was determined that the suspect was in the U.S. on an expired work visa and she is currently being held on an ICE detainer.
“This suspect should not have even been behind the wheel of a vehicle,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “This is an awful, senseless tragedy that should never have occurred. This beautiful child should be turning 14 years old in just two weeks, but for this suspect’s illegal actions. Mariana’s family and friends are in our prayers.”
Convicted Sex Offenders Caught Trying to Cross Border
Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents had their hands full as they arrested a number of foreign nationals – all of whom were both convicted sex offenders and former deportees, according to an ICE press release:
“The subjects, all Mexican or Honduran nationals, were encountered within groups of migrants attempting to enter the country illegally.”
Most of the crimes the captured immigrants committed were against children, and the majority of the incidents took place in California and Arizona.
“Last month, more than a dozen illegal aliens, who had committed heinous crimes in at least eight U.S. states were arrested by Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents as they tried to sneak back into the country,” said Sector Chief Roy Villareal.
North Carolinians for Immigration Reform and Enforcement (NCFIRE)
Each month, NCFIRE posts a list of sexual crimes committed against children by illegal immigrants. The numbers are staggering – especially considering they’re just for one state. In March 2019, 14 illegal immigrants were arrested, resulting in 45 charges of child rape and sexual abuse in North Carolina. Add that number to the previously convicted immigrants listed above, and that still barely represents a drop in the bucket of just how many children are being sexually abused by people who shouldn’t have been here to begin with.
Sanctuary cities and states are only making it easier for predators to remain in our country while preying on our children.
