High Noon for SCOTUS and Dems

by | Sep 27, 2018 | Articles, Politics

The Supreme Court battle currently underway is one for the ages. After confirmation hearings were otherwise complete, Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) released a letter from Dr. Christine Ford she held for almost two months. It claimed that President Trump’s nominee to replace retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, sexually assaulted Ford 36 years ago. Now, the Democrats are attacking him. However, Kavanaugh’s alleged behavior nearly four decades ago is not the reason the left so badly needs to pull off this character assassination.

The Democratic Party is merely attempting to torpedo the nomination in hopes of delaying the confirmation until they can take back the Senate – if they can – to keep Trump’s appointees out of the judiciary long enough to get another Democrat in the White House. The more conservative SCOTUS becomes, the fewer chance Democrats have at pushing their ideology change on the country through legislation, so Kavanaugh must be stopped.

U.S. Supreme Court

High Stakes

Although not spoken loudly, the left wants to fundamentally change America in every way possible, be it privacy from government, education, energy, religious liberty, and last but not least, gun rights. The success of their plans lies in the Supreme Court. Leftist need lawmaking judicial activists to shred and burn the Constitution, which is the only thing standing in their way.

In order for the left to succeed, they must diminish the Constitution. Our Founding Fathers composed this critical document in a way that opposes an overreaching government, which is the antithesis of Democrats ideology.

The left needs to own the Supreme Court to solidify their agenda of European style open borders, gun control, limited Fourth Amendment, limited religious freedom, speech restrictions, government reliance, and full federal government funded healthcare.

Federal Judge Robert Bork

Got Borked

In July of 1987, Federal Judge Robert Bork was nominated by President Reagan to fill a vacancy left on the Supreme Court after Justice Lewis Powell announced his retirement from the nation’s highest court. Bork was known to be a conservative who valued and upheld the Constitution, something the left will not tolerate. Bork’s confirmation hearing was a smear campaign.

Ted Kennedy, yes, the same one who drove his car off of a bridge and into the Chappaquiddick River, leaving Mary Jo Kopechne to drown, attacked Judge Bork with identity politics during the process.

Bork was called racist and sexist. Democrats worked up a lather without any evidence whatsoever. In the end, the left won by denying the confirmation 42-58. The term “borked” was coined.

Clarence Thomas

Round Two

In July of 1991, President George H.W. Bush nominated Clarence Thomas to replace retiring Thurgood Marshall on the Supreme Court. This time Democrats could not level accusations of racism on Thomas since he is African-American. However, they went to the next best thing in their playbook: Sexual harassment.

Anita Hill worked for Thomas at the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights and the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission. The Senate Judiciary Committee sought out Hill, and she publicly testified before the committee saying that Thomas sexually harassed her while working together. She was pressed by Joe Biden who was Chairman at the time.

In a jolting rebuke of the Democratic Party, Thomas denied all allegations and was confirmed 52-48.

The Supreme Court battle is do or die for the Democratic Party. If Kavanaugh is confirmed and Ruth Bader Ginsburg needs replacement while Trump is still in office, hold on to your hats. The next round will be worse, if you can imagine it.
