Have you ever – or repeatedly – wanted to communicate your support, opposition, gratitude or outrage to the author of an online article, but were unwilling to participate in the dreaded comments section? That’s why we are proud to announce a unique new feature on Liberty Nation called Live Author Chatroom.
I mean, why subject yourself to the slings and arrows of most commentariats, which, let’s be honest, do not generally produce a new age of enlightenment.
Avoid Comment Section Hell
Well do we remember the days not so long ago when it was a badge of honor to be recognized somewhere, anywhere on the fast-growing internet. But now, anyone with a keyboard can establish an “online presence” with a really clever screen name under a veil of anonymity, which grants him the right to engage in the cheapest commodity on earth – opinions. They cost nothing, and everyone’s got them.
On top of that, consider how frequently the comments section pivots from the essence of the article to some out-there comment designed to provoke the commentariat. It is not uncommon to see a thread of several dozen or hundreds of comments, which might make the author feel good…until we realize that only the first half dozen or so comments were actually about the article. The rest were in response to some comment which sparked outrage, which in turn led to a flurry of comments by the same small handful of people desperate to win the argument, which no one ever does – all to prove how smart they are.
LN Editorial Director, Leesa K. Donner (yes, we’re related) said when announcing the LN Live Chat:
I find that there are many people who prefer one-on-one communication rather than in groups. This gives our readers a chance to engage with our amazing authors in a real and personal way.
Here at LibertyNation.com know that many of you who are reluctant to enter into these type of food fights in the comments section, where you may get “flamed” or your voice is drowned out quickly, might well be interested in talking directly to the author.
The idea is to draw a straight line between you, the reader and the writer – a personal connection. It is likely to be more fun, more engaging and certainly more private than diving into the comments section.
When an author is available to chat with you, you will see the chat box on your screen. Just click it, and conversation with one of our many authors will commence. When there is no author available for a chat, you will see the LN Question of the Week – where you can weigh in on a particularly pressing issue or story.
Liberty Nation is always looking for new and original ways to connect with our loyal readers. We are confident you will enjoy our newest feature. We are looking forward to connecting with you one-on-one in our Live Author Chatroom.
