Georgia DA Fani Willis Under Fire

A new filing could derail her prosecution of Donald Trump. Read it here in full.

Michael Roman, a fellow criminal defendant in the Georgia election trial against former President Donald Trump, filed a motion on January 8 that accused Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis of personal financial corruption by appointing a special prosecutor with whom she is romantically involved. Additionally, the document alleges that Willis appointed the special prosecutor, Nathan Wade, without the authorization required by law.

Roman states:

“Willis has benefitted substantially and directly, and continues to benefit, from this litigation because Wade is being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to prosecute this case on her behalf … In turn, Wade is taking Willis on, and paying for vacations across the world with money he is being paid by the Fulton County taxpayers and authorized solely by Willis.”

Released Monday, January 8, the motion asks that the case against Mr. Roman be dismissed and that Ms. Willis and Mr. Wade be disqualified from “participating in this matter any further.”

How this filing is received could determine whether the Georgia indictment against the former president stands or falls.
