The Progressive Veil and the Inferiority of Men

by | Jan 6, 2018 | The Left

A prominent aspect of the progressive ethos is that women are superior to men. Yes, you heard that right. They believe that men are inferior beings.

How so? Consider a common claim promulgated by feminism: anything a man can do a woman can do equally well.

That’s the premise behind the claim that any observed gender income inequality is due to sex discrimination. At Google, social justice engineers concluded that male overrepresentation in leadership positions and STEM fields must – must – be due to systemic oppression of women. Why? Because anything a man can do, a woman can do equally well.

That sounds very nice, except that the equality does not go both ways. Women can do things men cannot. Like giving birth and breastfeeding.

An Imbalance?

Women carry with them this wonderfully complex and highly specialized baby factory in their belly, which allows them to manufacture the miracle of life, and at the same time, they can do absolutely everything men can do equally well with no performance loss or disadvantage whatsoever. Women have their unique arena of speciality where they reign supreme, but men don’t. Men can at best only be equally good to a woman in other areas, never better. Consequently, women must be superior to men.

Does this sound even remotely reasonable? Everything we know about biology tells us that a specialization in one area will come at the expense of capabilities in other areas. For instance, we know that we modern humans are brainier than our ancestors, but therefore we are also less brawny.

Since women have a physiology that is uniquely adapted to child rearing, what could be the areas in which men correspondingly excel?

Men – on average – have less downtime. They can work longer and harder because they don’t have any maintenance and plumbing issues regarding a baby factory.

Since there is a limit to how many babies a woman can rear, but not a similar limit to how many children a man can father, men are typically more expendable than women. That’s why throughout the ages during catastrophes it has always been “women and children first.” Women make up the backbone of society. Without them, there simply is no future.

The Expendables

Since men are biologically more expendable, nature can allow itself to experiment with them. There is, therefore, greater variability among men than among women. There are more male geniuses, but also more idiots. More explorers and adventurers, but also more couch potatoes. More heroic soldiers and protectors, but also more violent thugs.

Therefore, men should be overrepresented in the modern-day equivalent of hunting, exploring and protection, men’s niche of biological specialization. That is precisely the workplace. Biologically, we should expect men to be career hunters, science explorers and willing to sacrifice their time and even their lives on the battlefields as soldiers.

That is exactly what we observe, and there is nothing wrong about that. The progressives see sex differences through the Marxist lens of the oppressor and the oppressed. The scientifically correct view, however, is to see sex differences as a form of collaboration, a division of labor that benefits all.

And when the progressives can finally see through their darkened veil, perhaps they’ll learn to value all members of society.
