Major media outlets have reported that former President Donald Trump has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court of the United States over the Colorado Supreme Court decision removing him from the Republican presidential primary ballot. The Supreme Court’s website did not show the filing, but the release through The Hill and others suggests Trump’s attorneys sent the filing directly to some reporters.
On December 19, the Colorado panel of judges delivered a 4-3 verdict stating that Trump had “engaged” in “insurrection” on January 6, 2021 and that he was, therefore, disqualified from appearing on the ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Trump’s legal team argues that the judges ruled wrongly and misapplied the law.
Liberty Nation believes you should have all the facts without the spin. As such, we republish the appeal here in full.
