Efforts to promote late-term abortion and euthanasia are on the march in multiple states. The similarities of the legislation and the close timing of the various campaigns leave little doubt that there is a coordinated drive behind this sudden lurch in activity. Now a third spoke on the Culture of Death wheel is gaining ground, and it shows just how meticulously planned the concerted anti-life agenda can be.
Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit against Maine to allow nurses to perform abortions in 2017. Abortion advocates have filed similar suits in Idaho and Montana. With Democrats winning majorities in Maine’s house and senate in November, abortion supporters apparently believe the time is right to pass legislation to resolve the issue.
Never Was About Women’s Health
Pro-life group Live Action notes that the move to legalize non-physician baby killing focuses on “vacuum aspiration” abortions. As with all abortions, there is nothing routine about this procedure. Live Action reports that Planned Parenthood’s legal consent forms state that aspiration abortions “carry potential risks of hemorrhage, uterine perforation, sterility, injury to bowel or bladder, and possible hysterectomy, and in rare cases, death.”
But abortion zealots are keen to let nurses and other medical personnel work the instruments of murder for the simple reason that they are running out of doctors willing to do their grisly work. Pro-life website LifeNews reports that the abortion industry-aligned Alan Guttmacher Institute states 2,918 doctors worked as abortionists in America in 1982; by 2011, that number had fallen to 1,720.
Arrambide proudly stated at the time that 30 states and four localities, such as the District of Columbia, had pending “abortion out loud” bills. The institute touted its “Playbook for Abortion Rights,” which PLI President Gloria Totten said constituted a “new strategic initiative to promote a bold, proactive reproductive rights and justice strategy at the state and local levels,” according to Rewire. The institute sent its playbook to legislators in all 50 states.
PLI is thorough in its campaign. Pre-fab model legislation on allowing non-physicians to perform abortions is already displayed on its website as well as in its playbook. “Approximately 200,000 advanced-practice clinicians currently practice in the United States,” PLI notes. Pro-abortion radicals hope to tap in to that enormous pool to make up for the dwindling number of doctors willing to destroy babies in the womb.
Soros People
And who is Totten, founder and leader of PLI? Totten is a longtime radical who formerly worked at the National Association for Repeal of Abortion Laws (NARAL) and other hardcore pro-abortion groups. From 2001 to 2015, before founding PLI, she led an organization known as Progressive Majority.
According to David Horowitz’s Discover the Networks site, Progressive Majority received “large amounts of funding from the Democracy Alliance.” DA was heavily financed by progressive billionaire George Soros, who, Discover the Networks reports, “quickly and enthusiastically embraced” the organization’s strategic plans.
Totten is also connected with the Social Transformation Project, which touts on its website that one of its key “Funders” is Soros’ Open Society Foundations. She proudly boasts of her extensive ties with radical activists across America.
The American people are witnessing an elaborate and well-funded effort to enact the Culture of Death throughout the nation. Elected Democratic representatives openly do the bidding of committed professional progressive radicals tirelessly working to control life and death within a legal framework. From euthanasia to abortion up to the moment of birth and non-physicians slaughtering the unborn, the true horrors of that agenda are being laid bare even as efforts to codify them into law continue unabated.
