In a year in which the homelessness crisis has been front and center of media attention, it seems that not everyone is pulling heir weight. While there was a national improvement, the Golden State dragged down the numbers. Liberty Nation’s Sarah Cowgill wrote:
The ironic and incredibly inconvenient truth is California leads the way, adding an implausible 16.4% of unsheltered families, veterans, and elder Americans attempting to survive on the streets. The report also highlights a boost of 21,306 homeless people in the Golden State compared to last year, which essentially renders the progress other states have worked diligently to achieve null and void. The unsheltered population decreased dramatically in 29 states – including Washington, D.C. It should’ve been a banner year to celebrate, but California skewed the curve.
An extra 16.4%! And this from the state represented by two of the Democratic Party’s top dogs. Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi both represent California, and in many ways, represent their party on the national stage. These are the folks that are determined to shape the country if their team wins in 2020.
President Trump was not shy in calling out the culprits in a tweet threatening Federal action. “Governor Gavin N has done a really bad job on taking care of the homeless population in California. If he can’t fix the problem, the Federal Govt. will get involved!”
If these people can’t take care of a single state – a state that has a multitude of celebrities and billionaires – how can they be trusted with running a whole country?
What to Watch For
Governor Newsom will continue to blame the federal government for not getting behind his schemes, the media will fail to call out California’s leadership, and President Trump may just see solving this crisis as a way of undercutting Democrat authority on the west coast.
Dark Money Democrats
We’ve all heard the accusations that President Trump won 2016 with dodgy money, that fake donors were funneling cash into his campaign, and that he basically won by cheating. No one has yet provided evidence or made a credible accusation that could be brought to the courts regarding these claims. Not so for Democrats.
A court filing unsealed on December 3 that received almost zero media attention was that a number of folks have now been charged with sending illegal campaign contributions to … you’ve guessed it…Democrats.
Ahmad “Andy” Khawaja of Los Angeles, California, used his online platform to hide excessive donations and to anonymize those who should have been listed publically. Liberty Nation’s Graham J. Noble reveals the scope of the scam:
Khawaja made personal donations but also channeled money from other individuals who sought to conceal the origins of the donations. The largest contributor was George Nader, who is in federal custody on charges relating to the sexual exploitation of minors. Nader was one of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s witnesses – a fact that further erodes the highly questionable credibility of the investigation into alleged 2016 election tampering. Mueller’s probe led to the indictment of several Russian nationals, a Russian company, and three individuals connected to the Trump campaign, though none of the three were charged with any crimes relating to supposed collusion with the Russians.
Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), and Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) and even Hillary Clinton were among the lucky beneficiaries of this dark money. But will the media chime in suggesting that they only won (or lost in the case of Hillary) their races by cheating?
There is no proof that the beneficiaries or the DNC knew about the scheme, and a guilty verdict has yet to be returned, but it is worth considering what the media reaction would have been if the situations were reversed. Would the complicit media be howling for blood? Would protestors be in the streets demanding President Trump step down? And would this not be the biggest media event of the year, even eclipsing the impeachment in the House?
What to Watch For
No one will discuss this issue unless forced to do so. It has been known for years that political parties use clearinghouses to funnel cash to their campaigns, but it is a secret that everyone has just ignored. Perhaps this latest indictment will finally break open Swamp politics and let some light into the dank, dark corridors of power.
Washington Whispers & Other Juicy Tidbits
Be on the lookout for:
- Expect to see a lengthy explanation of why the impeachment trial in the Senate will not be starting anytime soon. Republicans will be blamed by Democrats.
- The homelessness crisis will be a big vote winner for Donald Trump if he can show up California and New York as incompetent leaders. Expect to see some graciously offered plans and assistance.
