FBI Lovers Get Cold Feet Once the Heat Is On

by | Jul 12, 2018 | Narrated News, Politics

President Trump started yet another feculence fit on Twitter by stating the FBI’s ill-fated “lovers” Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were getting “cold feet” when held to the fire of truthful testimony.  From his lofty perch 40,000 feet above in Air Force One, the president taunted the prolific paramours for threatening (through attorneys) to dodge subpoenaed testimony concerning the Russia probe.

Lisa Page

Page and Strzok were to appear before the House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight Committee: Page on one day behind closed doors and Strzok the following day in a public forum.  But it seems Page decided not to grace them with her undeniably magnetic presence.

Her actions, while predictable, are almost laughable in a sense.  But it is an interesting twist in an investigation that appears to be shining a spotlight on the wrongdoings of everyone except the man accused.  Isn’t it Ironic?

Why so Worried, Lisa?

Page’s attorney, Amy Jeffress, claims the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees are using “bullying tactics” by not releasing the scope of their questions or admitting which pertinent files from DOJ they have in possession.

And in the same breath, she supported her client’s decision stating, “Through her actions and words, Lisa has made it abundantly clear that she will cooperate with this investigation.”

Whether or not she has copies of the files linked to questioning by the Committees is irrelevant, as Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) pointed out in a tweet. “There is no requirement that investigators have to provide information in advance to a witness, subject or a target prior to talking to them.”

It is bound to be an embarrassing list of questions to get answers for accusations of political bias by two FBI investigators who mixed their work with sexual escapades – and promises between one another of keeping then candidate Trump out of the White House.  But come on – this is a subpoena, not an invite to tea.

Just Plead the Fifth, Already

Page’s snub of House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight Committee is raising the ire of Republicans, apparently ill equipped to being ignored by the commoners of the Justice Department.

House Speaker Paul Ryan

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) quickly took the offensive by telling gathered reporters:

“Congressional subpoenas for testimony are not optional. … She was a part of a mess that they have uncovered over at DOJ. She has an obligation to come testify. If she wants to come plead the Fifth, that’s her choice. But a subpoena to testify before Congress is not optional. It’s mandatory. She needs to comply.”

But she didn’t, and a reschedule has not been announced.

As for Page and Stzrok, between canoodling and cooing texts, discussed their vitriolic hatred and vows that Trump would never become president, their testimony, under oath, is demanded by the American people.  Perhaps Americans needs to insist on a thorough cleaning of the Justice Department and all of it’s shady entities.  Just a thought.
