BREAKING: Biden Speaks on COVID-19 Plan

The president gives an update on the White House response to coronavirus.

On Friday, September 24, President Biden spoke to the press regarding the successes and drawbacks of his six-point plan to combat COVID-19. After listing the key precepts, he detailed the proposed rollout of a third vaccination.

The booster shot will be offered to people within the key groups who have had two Pfizer vaccines. It appears those who opted for Moderna or J&J will not be eligible yet. The third jab is specifically for:

  • Those aged 65 and over.
  • Those aged 18 to 65 who have a medical condition that makes them susceptible to COVID-19.
  • Those who work in industries where there is a high risk of exposure.

The president also acknowledged that he would be taking his own booster shot in due course.

Once again, Biden insisted that this was “a pandemic of the unvaccinated” and queried why almost 70 million Americans had not yet been vaccinated, saying the 25% are “causing a lot of damage.” He also stated that the unvaccinated are causing unease in the economy and are taking up hospital beds that could otherwise be used for people with heart attacks and other illnesses. Biden stated that the requirements he has mandated would cover up to two-thirds of working Americans.

The president took questions from approved reporters and outlets with prepared questions that he appeared to have written on a small piece of paper at the podium. ABC asked whether he took responsibility for the border crisis; Biden responded by reiterating that it was “horrible” to see “people being strapped” (referring to the alleged whipping). This story has been widely debunked and is now considered “fake news” by a number of even left-leaning news outlets. In fact, agents were taught the split-rein method of riding during this administration. Still, the president warned, “Those people will pay.”

On the question of unity, Biden said he had earlier indicated it would take him a year to achieve his goals, and blamed the former administration for leaving him in a difficult situation from the start. The president also said the two pending pieces of legislation (totaling $4.5 trillion) were likely to pass.

Mr. Biden finished up by saying that his spending bills would provide things that voters want and that the “vast majority” of voters support his proposals, even if they do not support the price tag.
