Breaking: NY AG Reports on Cuomo Sexual Harassment

Damning report finds Governor Cuomo broke state and federal laws.

by | Aug 3, 2021 | Articles, Law

New York Attorney General Letitia James has announced that her office has concluded its investigation into multiple sexual harassment claims against the state’s Governor Andrew Cuomo. The probe found that Cuomo harassed numerous current and former staff members between the years of 2016 and 2020.

In a statement, James said, “This is a sad day for New York because independent investigators have concluded that Governor Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and, in doing so, broke the law.” She reiterated during the follow-up Q & A that the governor had broken both state and federal laws. However, the investigation was a civil matter, not criminal, and James emphasized that if any local or state lawmakers wished to proceed with charges, that would be their decision alone.

As well as outlining that Cuomo sexually harassed staff members, the report apparently details events in which the governor “retaliated” against one employee who attempted to make her story public.

AG James also let it be known that the governor is still under active investigation from her office into claims that he used staff resources to further his book deal. Cuomo has yet to release a statement of his own.
