Serial Killer Illegal Alien from Kenya

Dallas, TX

Billy Chemirmir

A citizen of Kenya living in Texas is linked to at least 11 homicides of elderly women and authorities are investigating 750 more for possible links, according to AP News.

Billy Chemirmir, 46, was arrested in March 2018 as a suspect in the death of 81-year-old Lu Thi Harris.  An affidavit from the Dallas police said Harris’ body “had what appeared to be lipstick smeared on her mouth, and a pillow on her bed also had lipsick smears, indicating she may have been suffocated.” But it was the attempted murder of a 91-year-old woman who survived that led police to suspect Chemirmir.

The victim, who lived in Plano, said the suspect had told her to “go to bed. Don’t fight me,” and then had been smothered with a pillow until she lost consciousness. Paramedics were able to revive her, and she told local police officers that the man had stolen a jewelry box. Law enforcement was able to get a license plate number from surveillance and, days later, caught him dumping a jewelry box into a dumpster. The box was traced back to Harris.

Authorities said Chemirmir gained entrance into the elderly women’s homes by posing as either a maintenance worker or health care provider. He allegedly chose senior apartment complexes to rob and commit murder.

Plano Police Chief Gregory Rushin said that “Chemirmir uses health care experience to his advantage in targeting and exploiting seniors, some of the most vulnerable people in our community. This is terribly disturbing.”

On May 15, Chemirmir was indicted on “six more counts of capital murder in the deaths of women ranging in age from 76 to 94,” according to Kim Leach, a spokeswoman for the Dallas County district attorney’s office. Five other capital murder indictments were returned by a Collin County grand jury.

Now the concern is that there may be many more cases because the way the women were murdered could be mistaken for natural deaths.

“We believe that the way that these crimes were committed, that when you’re a senior and you have health are issues, and you’re living by yourself and then you do become deceased, that many people would think right away that’s natural causes,” Rushin said. “There is not a deep investigation into those matters, so it would be very easy to disguise a crime in that type of activity.”
