Why Kanye West Pushes the Left’s Buttons

Outraged and incensed, the left is gunning for Kanye.

American rapper and fashion designer Kanye West has ignited a political firestorm with an interview conducted by Fox’s Tucker Carlson this week. West, who has changed his first name to Ye, does not toe the progressive line and is receiving a solid spanking from the left for his controversial views. The hue and cry is not unprecedented, but the American artist is taking a ton of heat.

In a lengthy, often rambling, and somewhat confusing interview West, was queried about his newest fashion statement – shirts that say, “White Lives Matter.” The 45-year-old billionaire said that he had received death threats for wearing it – and that Black Lives Matter is a scam.

An outspoken Christian, Ye laced his interview with the Biblical stories of Moses and David and wore a lanyard with a photo of a baby’s ultrasound. “You designed that? Why, what does that mean,” Carlson asked. “It just represents life. I’m pro-life,” West responded, adding, “I don’t care about people’s response as I care about the fact that more Black babies are being aborted than born in New York City. 50% of Black death in America is abortion. I don’t care about people’s responses; I perform for one audience, and that is God.”

Ye also spoke of his relationships with former presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. He asserted that his friendship with Obama cooled, “… as soon as I wasn’t saying the things that I was supposed to say as a rapper, our connection faded,” West asserted.

He also referred to Trump as “my man” and stated, “I think I started to really feel this need to express myself on another level when Trump was running for office and I liked him. And every single person in Hollywood from my ex-wife, to my mother-in-law, to my manager at that time, to my so-called friends and handlers around me told me that if I said I liked Trump that my career would be over, and my life would be over.”

Kanye West – Just Spell My New Name Right

Some say West loves the limelight and is likely undisturbed by the ruckus. Liberty Nation’s Jeff Charles averred that the creative artist uses controversy to gain more attention for his brand. Charles maintains: “The way the left has reacted to West is in line with their typical frantic race-baiting. But with him, it’s worse because he’s a black man with a vast platform. He has been impossible to cancel, which has been a major source of frustration for the left.”

One senses frustration, but there is much rage and resentment being leveled against West as well. Designer Tremaine Emory slammed the Ye by calling him “an insecure narcissist that’s dying for validation.” LaTosha Brown, co-founder of BLM, tweeted, “Mark my words, he gonna learn his value to whiteness when they no longer need a Black mascot.” And Rapper Meek Mill hammered the controversial artist, saying, “It’s like you hate your own people.” This is but a few of the hundreds of negative comments aimed at the man.

A meme of Kanye West on the internet shows a picture of Ye with the caption, “I’m not out of control; I’m just not in their control.” And that just might be what has the left going ballistic. Here’s a wildly successful black man who does not agree with them and doesn’t appear to give a hoot what they think. As LN’s Jeff Charles opined, “We have seen this movie before. When a black person doesn’t play team sports with the Democrats, they lose their minds.”

Update: Since the writing of this story, West’s Instagram account has been restricted for allegedly “anti-Jewish” posts.
