UK Navy Deployed in Immigrant Crisis

The flood of migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean has European security forces stretched thin. In the U.K., the Border Force — their version of our Customs and Border Patrol — is busy rescuing abandoned aliens. With two ships dedicated to this “humanitarian” effort so coveted by the globalist elites, they’re unable to fulfill their duties to protect the homeland. To pick up their slack, Home Secretary Sajid Javid has requested help from the Royal Navy.

“I can confirm that HMS Mersey will deploy to the Dover Straits to assist the UK Border Force and French authorities with their response to migrant crossings,” Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson says, The Independent reports.

Feeding the Problem

If the naval forces will be merely continuing that work, it means their primary purpose will be “humanitarian” – i.e., plucking migrants from the sea and transporting them to their very destination. The Border Force is considered undermanned at the moment because two of its boats have been doing just this in the Mediterranean. [perfectpullquote align=”right” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=”24″]As far as organized crime is concerned, it’s de-risked their business.[/perfectpullquote]

In fact, if recent history is an indicator, they are much more concerned with rescuing invaders into Europe than with securing British sovereignty.

A June U.K. government dispatch boasted that a cutter was being sent to the Aegean “to assist with vital search and rescue operations which have already saved more than 13,000 lives.”

A 2015 dispatch hailed the return of two ships from service in the Mediterranean, lauding them for ensuring that “[o]ver 1,650 lives have been saved as a result of search and rescue operations …”

That report hailed the arrest of 26 “suspected people smugglers.” This is the same language being used now by U.K. officials as the navy is being called in. The arrest of exactly two smugglers has been championed as a major achievement in stopping an influx that has seen a reported 139 migrants captured while attempting to reach Britain from France since Christmas, and 239 since November.

It is insane to believe that the arrest of a few smugglers here and there will put a dent in an industry made incredibly lucrative by the migrants themselves, who are paying between $5,000 and $10,000 per person to steal their way into the U.K. Yet government officials seem more worried about the negative publicity that would come with drowned invaders than with providing a true incentive against the invasion in the first place.

If migrants are captured in English waters, they are brought to the U.K. to have their asylum claims heard. In other words, their voyage is completed for them. Former Home Office official David Wood has warned that this makes the smugglers’ job easier. “As far as organized crime is concerned, it’s de-risked their business. They know they don’t have to get right across the Channel and land, they can get halfway across and the migrants will be taken the rest of the way,” he explained to the Telegraph.

Iran to UK

British journalist Leo McKinstry, writing in The Express, states that most of this new wave of migrants are Iranians who made their way to Serbia before heading to France en route to the U.K.

McKinstry writes that Serbia “introduced visa-free travel for Iranians this year in an effort to boost tourism. Because of widespread abuses, the scheme ended in October, but not before 40,000 Iranians had gone to the Balkan state.”

He marvels that no migrants have drowned off the coast of England so far. It is a sentiment shared by Wood, who notes there will be a “hue and cry” if such an event were to occur.

But Iranians paying big bucks to be smuggled into Britain, thus opening the door for terrorism on a frightening scale, is evidently less appalling in the PR world of government officials.

As McKinstry notes, unless the navy turns back boats and prevents these migrants from ever stepping onto U.K. soil, the hazardous journeys will only continue.

He points out that Australia faced a similar invasion from Southeast Asia that was effectively halted in 2013 when the government announced just such a policy.

Indeed, even the leftist Associated Press acknowledged in 2015 that “[a]sylum seeker boat arrivals from Southeast Asia have all but halted in the past two years since the government began turning back boats and refusing to resettle people who pay smugglers to bring them to Australian shores.”

Home Secretary Javid is reportedly planning on pursuing a similar path by working with France to allow Britain to immediately return captured migrants rather than reward them by ferrying them into the U.K.

This is the only policy that will put an end to a shockingly dangerous scenario being played out in English waters at this very moment. Alien Iranians are lapping up onto U.K shores. Turn back the boats or lose your island. The choice has become that stark for the British.
