President Trump had no public engagements or scheduled meetings but he didn’t take a break from Twitter. Responding to former President Barack Obama’s attempt to credit himself for the current economy, Trump tweeted: “Did you hear the latest con job? President Obama is now trying to take credit for the Economic Boom taking place under the Trump Administration. He had the WEAKEST recovery since the Great Depression, despite Zero Fed Rate & MASSIVE quantitative easing.”

A busy schedule included fundraising events in California and a Make America Great Again rally at the Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. Revealing, on Twitter, that U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, would take over as Acting Director of National Intelligence, the president wrote: “Rick has represented our Country exceedingly well and I look forward to working with him. I would like to thank Joe Maguire for the wonderful job he has done, and we look forward to working with him closely, perhaps in another capacity within the Administration!”

At the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Trump delivered a lively and jovial commencement address at the Hope for Prisoners graduation ceremony. In the evening, the president held a rally in Colorado Springs, CO. Having fun at the expense of squabbling Democrats, Trump recounted some of his favorite moments from the recent Nevada primary debate: “Mini Mike didn’t do well last night,” he told the crowd, referring to Michael Bloomberg. “I was gonna send him a note, saying, “It’s not easy doing what I do, is it?”

After holding a rare, afternoon rally at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada – timed, of course, to steal the spotlight from the democratic caucuses in that state – Trump returned to Washington, D.C. Finally, it appears the president has settled on a nickname for Pete Buttigieg: “President Alfred E. Neuman.”
