The Trump administration is finally doing something about the seemingly unending stream of leaks from the White House. CBS News reports: “Three leakers of classified information at the White House have been identified and are expected to be fired.” It appears the officials in question were a part of the Obama administration.

The news organization One America News Network broke the story first. They reported that the authorities now have the names of the individuals alleged to have provided classified information to the media. Last week, Liberty Nation covered the continuing issue of leaks coming from the White House:

The question is: why is the White House experiencing so many leaks? The answer may be simpler than you think. The reason is likely because many senior officials on President Trump’s staff are holdovers from the Obama administration. These are people who are still loyal to the previous president, not the Trump administration.

Recent actions by the Trump administration seem to support the notion that former Obama officials are responsible for the continual flow of information to the media. There are currently over four-hundred staff members in the executive branch who served under the Obama administration.  Instead of filling these positions with individuals who would support his agenda, the president has allowed the Obama holdovers to remain. This now appears to be a costly error.

It seems the president is finally learning from his mistakes, but he will need to do more if he is going to staunch the bleeding. There are likely still many members of Trump’s staff who are more loyal to the previous administration. The president cannot continue to allow these officials to undermine his agenda. Instead of rooting out a few leakers at a time, it might be more beneficial to use a scorched earth approach. Since the White House is leaking at such an alarming rate, the prudent solution would be replacing all or most of the Obama holdovers with officials who will not sabotage the president’s efforts.

Of course, many fear the inevitable blowback from the establishment media. We know that if the president were to replace the Obama holdovers, news outlets around the nation would lose their minds. They would take to the airwaves in a frantic effort to convince the American public that President Trump had just ushered in the apocalypse – while completely ignoring the fact that plenty of other administrations have done the same.

However, the media’s reaction wouldn’t be as damaging as one might think. They would publish reports bashing the president’s decision for a few days. President Trump would take to Twitter and slam them as fake news. Then it would be over. The hysteria would die down, and the media would go back to pushing their beloved Trump/Russia collusion narrative. The only net change would be a drastic decrease in White House leaks.

Identifying and firing the leakers of classified information is a good step for the Trump administration. It sends the message that those who attempt to undermine the president will face the consequences. However, since the White House has had such difficulty with leaks, they will need to do more to address the issue. Decisive action is necessary if the president wishes to show that he is in control of the executive branch.
