Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Well, it looks like the Intersectional Socialist Squad just got some bad news, and it could have some serious ramifications for the Democratic Party in 2020. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MN), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) have enjoyed the benefits of a fawning media establishment that couldn’t resist giving them endless coverage since they took office earlier this year. But even the Fourth Estate can’t convince American voters to jump aboard the socialism train.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Nobody Likes the Squad
Axios just published a study analyzing the opinions of a critical voting block on the more progressive members of the House of Representatives. Naturally, much of the poll focused on Ocasio-Cortez and the gang, as they have become the faces of the far-left group of the party.
The study was conducted in May by an organization that works with various factions in the Democratic Party. It analyzed the views of likely general-election voters who “are white and have two years or less of college education.” A top Democrat told Axios the results show that Ocasio-Cortez being seen as the face of the party could put the Democrat control over the House in jeopardy. “If all voters hear about is A-O-C, it could put the [House] majority at risk,” he said. “She’s getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races.”
Here are the findings of the study:
- Ocasio-Cortez was known by 74% of participants, but only 22% had a “favorable view” of the lawmaker.
- Omar was recognized by 53% of participants, but a mere 9% had a “favorable view.”
- Socialism was favored by 18% of voters, but 69% viewed the ideology unfavorably.
Well, that doesn’t look too good for our favorite progressive lawmakers, does it? The Democrat official put it nicely: “Socialism is toxic to these voters.”
Does it Matter?

Nancy Pelosi
If you have been following the news, you have probably seen that the far-left intersectional wing of the Democratic Party has been locked in a bloody war with the establishment faction, represented by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). After President Donald Trump slammed members of the squad in one of his tweets, the two sects united in condemning him. But make no mistake, this will be a short-lived truce.
Pelosi and her band of merry establishment men will soon be back at war with A-O-C and her bandits. It is clear that Democrat voters do not favor the Intersectional Socialist Squad, but there is a chance that the party does not care what their voters want. If the far-left progressive wing gains more traction, it will provide American voters with a clear choice: progressive socialism or Trumpism. Given the results of the poll, it might not be hard to predict what the public will choose.
