Remember when the left-wing media establishment went crazy because President Trump allegedly referred to certain African nations as sh*tholes? While most of the American public probably hasn’t been thinking about this particular episode, it appears the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) hasn’t forgotten.

Apparently, the FCC has received numerous complaints about the word “sh*thole.” Not because Trump may have used this word to describe certain countries, but because the media felt it was necessary to use the word over and over again in their efforts to attack the president.

It appears their efforts have backfired.

America Didn’t Like The Media’s Sh*thole Comments

When President Donald Trump allegedly made comments about immigrants coming from sh*thole countries, the establishment media lost their collective minds. As usual, they thought they could use one of the president’s remarks to attack him.

It makes sense, right? It was a prime opportunity to promote their narrative about the president’s supposed racism.

As with their other attacks on the president, it failed. However, it appears that this particular effort against the Trump administration may have backfired on the media establishment. According to Politico, there were more than 100 complaints to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) against news outlets who continually used the word “shithole” when reporting on the president’s rumored words.

Here’s a shocker: most of the complaints were lodged against CNN, who used the word repeatedly when reporting on the story. However, other left-leaning news outlets also received complaints. These included:

• NBC News
• NPR
• MSNBC

Apparently, the American public didn’t approve of the media’s over-the-top coverage of the Trump’s supposed remarks. One of the complaints stated that “CNN is out of control and is attempting to completely undermine the President of the United States.” Another complained that their 9-year-old daughter “keeps hearing and seeing the word Sh–hole all over CNN.”

Unfortunately, the FCC is limited in its ability to regulate cable channels like CNN. The agency is only empowered to keep hardcore pornography off these stations. They cannot regulate profanity.

We’re not sure whether or not the president actually referred to African nations as sh*tholes. But this story did not cause any real damage to his administration. Why? Because the establishment media overreacted once again.

The Establishment Media Went Overboard

CNN was not the only network that went berserk over this story. Other left-leaning news outlets attempted to use this non-event to further their “Trump is a virulent racist” narrative. Their smear campaign went nowhere.

Indeed, the media’s efforts were doomed from the start. Why? Because many Americans agree with the fact that many African nations are actual sh*tholes. However, the majority of the American public understand that the status of these countries has nothing to do with race, or the citizens.

Nations like Haiti, Yemen, Congo, and other third-world countries can be classified as sh*tholes — not because of their everyday citizens — but because of their government. Most of these countries are led by leaders who do not care about the lives of the people they rule, which means these nations live in poverty and squalor. Indeed, they are being oppressed.

Does The Left-Wing Media Actually Care About The Oppressed?

If the left-wing media were smart, they would have criticized the president’s alleged poor choice of words, and then highlighted the fact that many people live under oppressive governments. In this way, they could have smacked Trump while making it seem as if they actually cared about the citizens of these nations.

It would have been a genius PR move.

But, the fact is, they don’t care about people living under oppressive regimes. They care only about opposing a president they don’t like. It’s not surprising, is it?

In the United States, the left pretends to care about the poor and disenfranchised. In reality, they see these people as a weapon they can use against their political opponents.

The American public didn’t care much about Trump’s alleged comments because the media overreacted. Instead of responding in a way that is sensible, they used it as a chance to virtue signal. It’s a mistake that has allowed Trump to get away with making comments that would cause serious harm to other presidents. Unfortunately for the left, their allies in the media establishment don’t appear to be learning this lesson well.
