If you ever had any doubts that the hard left is targeting your children, this story should disabuse you of any uncertainty. Hardcore progressives employ both overt and covert methods to influence American children into embracing their ideology in a variety of areas, including sports, entertainment, and even religion.
Writer Nona Willis Aronowitz wrote a piece for Teen Vogue in which she advises teenage girls on how they can obtain an abortion without the knowledge or consent of their parents. You read that right. The outlet is attempting to subvert the authority of parents.
Teen Vogue Encourages Teen Abortion
Aronowitz writes a column in which she answers questions sent in by readers. In a piece titled “How to Get an Abortion if You’re a Teen,” she addresses a query from a young pregnant girl who asked the following question:
“I’m 16, I’m pregnant, and I don’t want to be. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to get an abortion without my parents’ permission, but I’m really scared to tell them because they are both against abortion. What should I do?”
One might think that Aronowitz would first try to get the young girl to reconsider her decision. But it’s 2019, and abortion is supposed to be every girl and woman’s right. So it probably shouldn’t surprise us that the author attempts to make the her feel better about having the procedure. In her response, Aronowitz employs persuasive language and arguments designed to assure the teenager that this is the right choice.
She describes her own experience as a young girl whose mother took her to get Plan B medication after having sexual intercourse. Then, she attempts to ease the girl’s potential misgivings about aborting her child. “First of all, I’m here to tell you that you have nothing to be ashamed of,” she writes. “Accidents can happen even to the most careful among us. And it’s only logical that if teens are mature enough to become parents, they are mature enough to decide whether or not they want to give birth. Having access to abortion should be your right, regardless of your parents’ beliefs.”
Then, Aronowitz lashes out at the pro-life crowd, claiming that many of the people who argue against abortion end up having the procedure themselves. “One thing I’ve learned while researching and reporting on these issues is that supposedly anti-abortion Americans often get abortions,” she states. “They often help their children procure abortions. You know those activists who stand outside clinics holding signs adorned with Bible verses and pictures of fetuses? Even they sometimes get abortions.”
Disgusted? Just wait, it gets worse.
Advising Kids on Abortion
After her effort to convince the young girl to go through with aborting her baby, Aronowitz then begins to dispense advice on how to accomplish her objective despite her parents’ potential objections. “Do you fear for your safety if you reveal your pregnancy?” She writes. “Are you worried they might meet you with violence or kick you out of the house? If yes, there is a legal option in 36 states that would let you get an abortion without parental approval called a judicial bypass procedure — an infantilizing holdup to which nobody should have to resort.”
The author then goes on to describe the process for obtaining a judicial bypass, which would enable the teenager to abort her child behind her parents’ backs. She also advises the girl to visit a clinic to gain guidance on how to circumvent her state’s laws and to contact her “local abortion fund” if she needs assistance to pay for the procedure. Lastly, she recommends that if the teenager can’t discuss the matter with her parents, she should consult another adult. “Seeking out an empathetic authority figure will make you feel less alone and help you process your emotions,” the author writes.
Hard Left Wants your Kids
The hard left is using media outlets that cater to teenagers to spread their ideas. This publication uses its platform and influence over young females to push sexuality and leftist politics, and given the fact that the website gets over 4 million hits per month, it is clearly a force to be reckoned with.
One of the most insidious aspects of online publications and magazines like Teen Vogue is that most parents are not aware of the content they produce. This means teenage girls are consuming content about transgenderism, sex toys, anal sex, and a host of other salacious topics — without the knowledge of their parents.
This article is yet another reminder to parents that they must guard their children’s minds at all costs. While nobody wants to be a helicopter parent, it is essential to constantly remain aware of the content kids are consuming because bad actors are counting on that ignorance.
