White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was publicly harassed Saturday whilst shopping at an Apple store. A 33-year-old American woman of Indian decent confronted Spicer with insults and accusations and later doubled-down with a highly offensive comment on social media. In the eyes of any reasonable person in a civilized society, this woman’s conduct could only be described as disgraceful.
The incident, which Spicer brushed off, is yet more proof that leftists have no respect for individual privacy. More than that, the encounter was a great example of liberals choosing hostility and name-calling over asking reasonable and serious questions.
According to a BBC report, Shree Chauhan, 33, had gone to the store to get her cellphone repaired when she noticed Spicer. Notwithstanding the timing of her presence in the store at the same time as Spicer and her ability to video the encounter on a phone that, supposedly, needed repair, this was another example of leftist aggression, pure and simple.
In a blog post on Medium, Chauhan writes “I realized what an enormous opportunity it was to get answers without the protections normally given to Mr. Spicer.” So, what relevant, insightful questions did she choose to ask the president’s press secretary?
“How does it feel to work for a fascist?”
Brilliant! Chauhan’s Twitter address, appropriately enough, is @shreec. An ingenious compounding of her name and the entire scope of her talents.
Other questions Chauhan fired at Spicer included “Have you helped with the Russia stuff – are you a criminal as well? Have you committed treason, too, just like the president?” and “You know you work for a fascist, right?”
Ah, the “Russia stuff”! Apparently, Chauhan possesses a keen grasp of international politics. In her blog post, she declares “His (President Trump’s) willful disregard for our Constitutional rights is well, fascist.” She declines, however, to explain which constitutional rights are being willfully ignored.
Answering her critics on Twitter, after she posted the video, Chauhan wrote “I have clear feelings for the man who is a fascist’s spokesperson. Nazis weren’t stopped with niceties.” Leftists consistently label their political foes “Nazis” – something that is so offensive on so many levels. The United States has never, in its entire history, had a federal administration that deserves to be compared to the Nazis. To draw such a comparison is to trivialize the appalling agenda of Nazism – an ideology that is, it should be noted, based on the socialist, collectivist, authoritarian world-view. It disregards and insults everyone killed by the Nazis and everyone who died in the war to defeat them.
Had Chauhan similarly confronted a government official in her country of origin, she would have been arrested immediately. Her ambush of Spicer was tolerated with no action of any kind taken against her.
Nazis, Ms. Chauhan? Really?
The left still does not get it; most Americans are tired of the hatred, the intolerance and the spiteful rhetoric they spew on a daily basis. There is no more political discourse; the left has so divided the nation one wonders if it will take several generations to heal the rift.
