Begging For Help: NM Gov Changing Her Tune On Immigration

So much for the border crisis being a charade – Gov. Grisham went to the Swamp to beg for help.

by Sarah Cowgill

Michelle Lujan Grisham

The radical-leftist governor of New Mexico, who sent National Guard troops packing in February, needs federal help now, it seems. She’s in the Swamp to beg for funding as illegal immigrants overwhelm the state. After months of neglecting the border cities and towns, toeing the DC elite party line of no “crisis” here, and facing a veritable citizens’ revolt in the Land of Enchantment, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is demanding federal government assistance for the dire situation – one she exacerbated through indifference to constituents.

And it comes on the heels of yet another county drawing a line in the sand and refusing any further influx of illegal immigrants seeking asylum. Sierra County, boasting a population 11,116 and a 21% poverty rate, joined Otero and Lincoln counties in passing resolutions opposing the relocation of migrants to their communities.

Kiwis Just Say No To Gun Ban

In the wake of the Christchurch mosque massacres, gun confiscation fizzles as Kiwis ignore new law.

by Leesa K. Donner

New Zealand politicians who rushed to enact nationwide gun confiscation following the Christchurch mosque massacres are befuddled by the lack of enthusiasm from citizens who have yet to comply with the new law. The so-called “gun reform” was expected to rid the vast New Zealand countryside of most semi-automatic firearms, magazines over a specified limit, and shotguns.

Two months ago, Reuters breathlessly reported, “New Zealand police expect tens of thousands of firearms to be surrendered by a guns buy-back scheme.” Law enforcement authorities averred that “it could be more.” Pregnant with the expectation that gun owners would trade their firearms for cash, the political class is nonplussed by the results.

Only 530 guns have thus far been turned in to the authorities.

Jordan Peterson: Carry Your Cross

How Jordan Peterson is reinvigorating Christianity for the political left.

by Onar Åm

Jordan Peterson is the mild-mannered Canadian professor of clinical psychology who was flung into the limelight of controversy after he stood up against neo-Marxist compelled speech laws in Canada in late 2016. The professional political hitmen of the left descended upon him and thought they had an easy kill. Little did they know that they had stumbled on an intellectual giant.

Through the leftist efforts to “assassinate” his character, they alerted millions of people across the world of his existence. Now he is a YouTube star and his latest book 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos has become the biggest Canadian bestseller of all time. The usual suspects formulaically call him “divisive”, “hateful” and “racist.” The opposite is the case. He has managed the impossible feat of uniting people across genders, races, religions, and politics.

Most notably, he has created a new wave of interest in Christianity. Atheists are flocking to his lectures to hear about the psychological significance of the biblical stories, and Christians – including pastors and theologians – are doing the same to learn about the evolutionary underpinnings of morality and divinity.

3D Glocks Are Now Possible To Make At Home

With a 3D printed frame, this fully functional firearm is not only homemade but also completely legal.

by Nathan Steelwater

Ever since the infamous Assault Weapons Ban of the 1990s, we have all watched with amazement and horror the comedy of errors that is gun legislation.  From “ghost guns” to “the shoulder thing that goes up” anti-gunners have fumbled and flailed at the Second Amendment. With the increase in 3D printing, the left’s jimmies are certain to be rustled.

Behold the 3D printed Glock. With a 3D printed frame, this fully functional firearm is not only homemade but also completely legal. ATF Guidelines and Federal Law do not require a license to make a firearm for personal use. But before you spend several thousand dollars on your 3D printer set-up, keep in mind that any firearm you create is illegal to manufacture if it cannot be picked up by a metal detector.

When Pictures Lie: Faking Climate Change

A picture’s worth a thousand words – but they aren’t necessarily always true.

by Onar Åm

Recently, a picture of arctic dogs running across what appears to be a sea of melted snow in Greenland circulated in the news. It was taken as absolute proof of how humans are changing the climate and melting the glaciers. There is only one problem with this story: It was fake news.

Only a few days later, another picture from the same site surfaced, showing nearly the same scenery and the same melted sea of water, except that the image was from 1984. It turns out that this type of snow melting occurs every summer in Greenland. It is not a sign of global warming, and it tells us nothing about human influences on the climate.

But visual persuasion is often far more powerful than arguments. That is the truth behind the trope that a picture tells a thousand words.
