Project Veritas dropped another CNN video – and just like the media watchdog’s previous exposés, this one shows CNN employees expressing their animus toward President Trump and other conservative figures. Anyone who has been paying attention for the last several years knows that “the most trusted name in news” clearly favors the left. The folks at CNN can pretend to be objective all they like, but videos like this sure make them look a lot more like activists than journalists.
CNN Exposed Once Again
The Project Veritas team has been secretly recording CNN’s morning rundown calls for months. These calls typically include CNN president Jeff Zucker and other executives meeting to discuss their programming. “This is yet another investigation Project Veritas has conducted into CNN, and once again they’ve demonstrated their partisan political agenda and total disconnect with journalistic ethics,” said Project Veritas founder and CEO James O’Keefe.
In this round of recordings, CNN executives discussed attacking Trump, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Marcus Mabry, CNN’s digital vice president of global programming, had much to say about Carlson, but none of it was shocking coming from a far-leftist. He said:
“Yeah, I was just going to say, if you’re going to talk about the story, I think it’s unavoidable that you have to talk about the naked racism of Tucker Carlson. Because that’s really what drove this anti-diversity push, you know, Trump watches Tucker Carlson’s show and then reacts. And just as sort of the white supremacy hour they have on Fox News every night, I think it’s the — You can’t disconnect the two.”
Zucker also weighed in, blasting President Trump. “This is a president who knows he’s losing, who knows he’s in trouble, is sick, maybe is on the aftereffects of steroids or not. I don’t know. But he is acting erratically and desperately, and we need to not normalize that,” he said.
The CNN president continued asserting that Trump was “acting erratically.” He said:
“You know, this is what we’ve come to expect for the last three and a half years, four years, but it clearly is exacerbated by the time that we’re in and the issues that he’s [Trump] dealing with. I think that we cannot just let it be normalized. He is all over the place and acting erratically, and I think we need to lean into that.”
CNN field producer Stephanie Becker implied that the transition between former Vice President Joe Biden and President Trump could result in a catastrophe on par with the 9/11 terror attacks. “On the issue of why it’s important to get the transition going right, the 9-11 report talks about one of the problems was that the trouble that was brewing that lost during the transition. So, if you want a good, concrete example of what happens when you don’t have a good transition, well, look at the Twin Towers,” she said.
During one of the calls, Zucker instructed his employees to target Lindsey Graham. “Frankly, if we’ve made any mistake, it’s been that our banners have been too polite, and we need to go well after Lindsey Graham,” he said.
He added, “There’s a ton going on. Let’s stay strong. Let’s stay newsy. Let’s stay urgent. Let’s be smart. There is a lot of news out there, and Lindsey Graham really deserves it.”
Should We Still Call These People Journalists?
According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of the term “activism” is as follows: “A doctrine or practice that emphasizes direct vigorous action especially in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue.”
The word “activist” can be defined as “one who advocates or practices activism: a person who uses or supports strong actions (such as public protests) in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue.”
News outlets like CNN routinely support and engage in “strong actions” in support of the Democratic Party and in opposition to all things conservative. Indeed, activists who are poorly disguised as journalists have gone so far as to protect radical left-wing extremist groups affiliated with the Antifa movement.
“These statements made by high-up executives at CNN prove that they are simply not interested in being unbiased when reporting on the news,” O’Keefe observed. “CNN likes to call themselves ‘the most trusted name in news,’ but how can the public ever trust a network that routinely bashes people simply because those people hold certain political views that are not aligned with the mainstream media?” he asked.
O’Keefe also pointed out that “Calling Tucker Carlson a racist and demanding CNN employees to attack Lindsey Graham is outrageous and unprofessional behavior.”
However, it’s worth acknowledging that this behavior isn’t considered unprofessional amongst activist groups; Indeed, the conversations that Project Veritas recorded would be wholly appropriate in this setting.
It is for this reason that organizations like CNN, ABC, and others fit better into the category of activist groups rather than journalistic outlets. Not only do they refuse to even try reining in their left-wing bias, they completely embrace it. Of course, this would not be an issue if they were honest about their political leanings. Pretending to be objective has allowed these people to masquerade as actual journalists instead of political commentators. But the declining trust in the news media reveals that nobody is buying the charade any longer.
