Sometimes it seems that the left is becoming so desperate that they are willing to tell any lie, no matter how ludicrous, to further their agenda. This story features CNN correspondent Jeffrey Toobin, who made a hilarious defense of Antifa — a far-left group that routinely engages in violence against conservatives.
We have seen the media attempt to defend Antifa on numerous occasions. They have been hesitant to show the ugly, violent truth about the organization. But Toobin’s statements are by far the most insane analysis of the group to date. Antifa, he says, is widely viewed as a black organization.
Toobin’s Black Antifa
Toobin recently participated in a CNN segment discussing President Donald Trump’s recent comments to Christian leaders that violence could break out if Republicans lose their elections. He did the usual race baiting, but then he made an interesting claim about Antifa. “Let’s be clear also about what’s going on here, the theme here is ‘I’m Donald Trump, and I’ll protect you from the scary black people,” he said. “Antifa is widely perceived as an African-American organization, and this is just part of the same story of LeBron James and Don Lemon and Maxine Waters and the NFL players and the UCLA basketball players.”
Huh? Since when has Antifa been viewed as a black leftist organization? And what do Trump’s remarks have to do with racism? Apparently, Mr. Toobin has not been paying attention to this far-left group, who is decidedly not a black organization. Or he could just be lying to his left-leaning audience, who might be willing to take his words as gospel.
Why Link Antifa To Blacks?
There is absolutely no evidence that Antifa is a black group. Indeed, there are many videos on the internet showing that the organization is made up almost entirely of whites. The group typically wears black clothing and masks to avoid being identified by the authorities and the people who witness their violent antics. However, there are plenty of images showing unmasked Antifa members, and it is clear that there is not a significantly high number of blacks involved with the group.
So why would Toobin make such a blatantly false statement? It is definitely possible that he knows nothing about the organization. However, a simple Google search reveals that Antifa is not an Afrocentric group, so he’s likely aware of the group’s apparent whiteness.
CNN is a left-wing news outlet, which means their audience is made up primarily of Americans who have more left-leaning views. While it is impossible to read Toobin’s mind, his remarks seem designed to elicit sympathy for Antifa. Most people know that the group uses violence to disrupt conservative events under the guise of fighting fascism. However, linking the group to blacks could be a way to satisfy the need for leftists to feel as if they are supporting black victims of white racism. After all, leftists are okay with violent demonstrations when they are perpetrated by poor, disaffected black Americans, aren’t they?
While it may not have been Toobin’s intention, his comments are indicative of the left’s practice of using blacks to justify violent behavior. Indeed, they have used the members of their valued victimhood class to shut down people who disagree with their views. They throw around words like “racist” and “homophobe” to shame their political opponents into silence. By pretending that they are fighting against victory, they have found an effective way to virtue signal and earn the support of minorities and members of the LGBTQP community.
It is unfortunate that so many on the left can’t see through the deception perpetuated by Toobin and many others on the left. They are unable to understand that the left utters lies such as these not to help black people, but to use them to grab more power. If there is a silver lining to this, it is the fact that Americans on the right and in the middle do not easily accept these lies. Indeed, more and more people are beginning to see the insidious con job the Democratic Party has pulled. It is only a matter of time before the left’s ideology is seen for what it is: a series of falsehoods intended to keep people under the thumb of the government.
