Missing Answers and Zero Accountability – The Joe Biden Way

Don't like it? Blame somebody else or alter reality.

President Joe Biden and his administration have adopted one of the central tenets of the Bush Doctrine: “If it feels good do it. If you don’t like it, blame somebody else.” Like his 2020 presidential campaign, Biden’s approval rating is in the basement as he attempts to extinguish fires, many of which he ignited, everywhere he turns. But rather than accept responsibility, answer questions honestly, and take accountability for the plethora of failures that cloud the White House, US officials have adopted a new approach that will be included in every Politics 101 textbook moving forward. This includes redefining basic reality, abandoning any culpability, and ensuring allies are installed in each corner of the Fourth Estate. Despite the American people not falling for this mendacity, voters can anticipate Team Biden to double down on this playbook.

Joe Biden and Student Loans

US administration officials might have contracted whatever has infected Biden. Perhaps it is a case of brain fog, a side effect of getting the coronavirus. Evidently, everyone is operating from the same handbook of boondoggles and blunders. Case in point, the president’s student loan forgiveness plan.

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the Mario Mendoza of White House spokespersons, has yet to verify how much it will cost taxpayers to cancel up to $20,000 in student loan debt per borrower. While estimates suggest it could come with a price tag of $600 billion over the next decade, the administration was unsure – or maybe preferred to be coy about the dollars and cents of an enormous spending campaign.

She attempted to satisfy the press with vague answers, including that any costs would be offset by budget deficit reduction efforts and the resumption of student loan payments. “All of this, when it comes to cost, will depend on how many of the loans canceled were actually expected to be repaid,” Jean-Pierre recently told reporters. “It will depend on how many borrowers actually take up this opportunity before we have a real sense.”

Sauntering Across the Border

In a recent exchange with Fox News’ Peter Doocy, Jean-Pierre denied that anyone was walking across the southern border. When asked by Doocy about the White House’s policy on unvaccinated travelers coming into the US and the thousands of migrants illegally entering the country without proof of vaccination status, she responded: “But that’s not how it works. But that’s not – it’s not like somebody walks over.”

The US Border Patrol reported that it experienced approximately 1.6 million encounters with migrants at the 1,933-mile-long southern crossing last year. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) catches thousands of migrants monthly at the border. In addition, images and videos routinely show families sneaking into the United States from Latin America. Perhaps Jean-Pierre and her media friends will defend the comment by noting that illegal immigrants are running, hurdling, or sprinting. Who knows?

Biden’s Dictionary Redefined

For years, a technical recession has been defined – by both sides of the aisle – as back-to-back quarters of negative Gross Domestic Product (GDP). A woman is a human who produces only female gametes and possesses two X chromosomes. Price inflation is when the cost of goods and services rises. A debacle is whatever occurred in Afghanistan last year. Fascism is when the government controls business and labor and outlaws opposition. However, the administration has different definitions for these terms. A recession is now an “economy transitioning to slower growth,” a woman is a “birthing person,” higher prices is equal to “zero inflation,” the withdrawal from Kabul was an “extraordinary success,” and fascism is voting Republican. Reality has ostensibly been redefined in Washington under the current regime.

MSM’S Biden Reportage: Yawn

News junkies and hounds would think that an administration failing to take accountability for anything and embracing Orwellian language tactics would be easy fodder for the mainstream media. However, journalists and pundits have defended Joe Biden and his merry band of policymakers every step of the way, choosing to reinterpret the misstatements and off-the-cuff comments to paint better portraits of the president to hang on the White House walls. If Biden utters a racist remark, makes an uncouth or inappropriate gesture, or espouses lies, activist members of the establishment press will encourage the public to “reject the evidence of your eyes and ears.” Critics would purport that Biden and Co. are taking a hatchet to the dictionary. But the left might instead be running a chainsaw through reality under the Chico Marx guise of “who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes?”
