Melania Bites Back at NYT

First Lady Melania Trump delivered a smarting blow to the anonymous scribe claiming to be a senior member of the White House and to the publisher of the scathing opinion piece written by said anonymous staffer, the New York Times.

The author, claiming to be a part of the “resistance” inside Trump’s administration, was chewed up and spat out by Melania as one would render a hunk of spoilt sushi.

Mrs. Trump appears to be the ‘take no prisoners’ type of warrior.

Kate Bennett of CNN asked a question of the first lady and I’m certain she didn’t expect this reply from the normally polite and soft-spoken Melania:

“Freedom of speech is an important pillar of our nation’s founding principles and a free press is important to our democracy. The press should be fair, unbiased and responsible.”

A clear and pointed remark towards both the NYT and CNN.

Enemy of the People

The NYT has been down the path of false reporting before – this is not another Trump “fake news” blemish on the storied paper. But Trump’s incessant denouncing of false news has pointed fact checkers’ magnifying glasses towards orifices the self-righteous organization is unaccustomed to exposing to the public’s view.

Not only is the NYT under fire for lack of verifiable facts, but when pushed, they seem to run an inordinate number of stories based on anonymous sourcing. That one instance of “Deep Throat” that launched the careers of Woodward and Bernstein at the Washington Post has enabled so-called journalists to run with rumor and innuendo from anonymous sources. Heck, they could be quoting the wisdom and intel of the neighborhood dog walker.

When papers are found out to have printed false facts, lies, and unverifiable claims, they run a retraction. No harm, no foul. But an “oops, my bad” doesn’t rewind time and undo the damage done to those on the receiving end of shoddy journalism.

It’s a dangerous game when the Fourth Estate is beginning to resemble the enemy of the people. And it has taken a legal immigrant to educate America:

“Unidentified sources have become the majority of voices people hear about in today’s news. People with no names are writing our nation’s history. Words are important, and accusations can lead to severe consequences. If a person is bold enough to accuse people of negative actions, they have a responsibility to publicly stand by their words and people have the right to be able to defend themselves.”

But we know the rabid left and their public relations department, also referred to as the legacy media, have rewritten the rules to fit their narrative.

Melania’s Time

There has not been a man so vilified in public office as Donald Trump. His children have been attacked, his wife teased and taunted for her accent, friends and business associates picked clean by the Democrat vultures. This is unprecedented in our nation.

Usually a calm harbor in the ongoing political storm, Melania rose up against the continued bullying of her family, showing herself to be a strong partner for an even tougher man. And whoever is the face behind this anonymous source, they should be shaking in their penny loafers as they have woken a sleeping lioness:

“To the writer of the op-ed – you are not protecting this country; you are sabotaging it with your cowardly actions.”

This woman has had enough.
