Taxpayers commonly gripe about the federal government wasting money. The funds procured by the government come from citizens who work. Yet they are often spent on pointless studies, many of which are forecasted to — and eventually do — fail. Montgomery County, Maryland is no different. They have decided to allocate $373,956 for illegal aliens’ legal fees as they face deportation.
Last week’s council meeting saw both supporters, who cheered for paying, and the opposition that showed disdain. The council chamber was standing room only as the county big wigs discussed giving tax dollars to the Capital Area Immigrant Rights Coalition so that they could begin candidate selection.
Natural born citizens arrived to voice their feelings on the matter. However, during these debates, one group is often left out: legal immigrants.
These are the people who came to this country the correct way. Legal immigrants are essential to the United States and have regard for immigration laws. They don’t scoff at the rules and claim the process is too complicated, too long, or that there is too much money involved.
Montgomery County is a clear example of why illegal immigrants are often disliked. The taxpayers are going to foot the bill for illegals to have their “rights” represented. This is not fair to tax contributors in general, and it is very unfair to legal immigrants specifically.
But leftists don’t care about fairness; this is about garnering new voters. They need an underclass to support progressives at all levels; especially since the African-American male support for President Trump has doubled in the last week.
Regardless of what the left says, it matters how someone becomes a citizen in America. It shows their work ethic and how much they care about making this country a better place to live. If someone jumps the border and begins getting government benefits, they are already showing themselves to be takers, not contributors. On the flip side, if a citizen of another country goes to the proper authorities and begin legal immigration paperwork, they have shown a willingness to be a citizen that respects American immigration laws. That is the kind of people this nation needs.
Laura Munez Lopez, an illegal alien, was interviewed at the council meeting. During the interview, she said,” This is the right thing to do, it is consistent with the core values of our County and our Country.”
Umm, no. Not at all. Breaking the law to come here isn’t in our “values.” If you were here legally, then you would know that from the civics test you took. As it is said in the south, “Bless your heart.”
Just look at how much damage illegal MS-13 gang members have done in the significant presence they have in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Leftist organizations can take private donations and waste them on illegal aliens if they choose, but Americans work hard for their money. Their tax dollars should not be put forth to encourage and prop up people who broke immigration law in the first place.
Let’s see tax money go to the wall.
