Liberty Nation: Top 10 Most Popular Stories of 2017

by | Dec 31, 2017 | Liberty Nation News

We were told it couldn’t be done — that there was simply no way to get LibertyNation.com up and running by Inauguration Day. But our response was simple: Oh, ye of little faith. And on January 20th Liberty Nation went live. Back then, we were just a small band of “deplorables,” but we had a mission. We wanted to distinguish ourselves with excellent writing and original content that was both conservative and consequential. Also, we wanted to be a site where our sources were solid. “No fake news found here,” would be our standard along with our motto, “Truth is Making a Comeback.”

It took long hours and arduous work from people to which we will forever be indebted – names like Kit Perez, Scott D. Cosenza, Nathalie deWolf, and Trevor Lyman come to mind. Of course, it is our authors that make LibertyNation.com what it is today. As such we want to highlight our ten most popular stories of this, our Inaugural year according to Stat Counter Analytics. Suffice it to say, all are worth a read if you missed them the first time around. So, without further ado, we give you the Liberty Nation Top Ten stories of the year.

Number 10

THE NOOSE TIGHTENS FOR LOIS LERNER  by Leesa K. Donner

Dear Lois proved to be a popular subject for our readers. Perhaps it is because thus far the woman most closely aligned with the IRS scandal has not been held accountable for the persecution of hundreds of organizations whose political beliefs did not align with the Obama administration. However, hope springs eternal that Ms. Lerner may, one day, be brought to justice.

Number 9

AUTISM AND VACCINES: FINALLY, SOME PROOF?   by Lorraine Silvetz, MSW – LN Contributor

Never one to shy away from controversy, Liberty Nation published a new study that looked at the possible connections between aluminum and autism. Our readers had a lot to say on the subject and just couldn’t stop reading Ms. Silvetz’s analysis of this most curious of maladies that still perplexes the best medical minds even today.

Number 8

FIRST LADY CLOTHING WARS  by Leesa K. Donner

Fashion still sells. And that was made clear by our story on how First Ladies dress. This wasn’t as much an opinion piece, as it was an examination of how the nation’s First Ladies communicate their distinctive styles through what they wear and how they wear it.

Number 7

CNN FIRES TRUMP SUPPORTER JEFFREY LORD  by Tim Donner

When CNN pulled the plug on their only stalwart conservative Jeffrey Lord, our readers were captivated. With his usual in-depth and poignant analysis, Tim Donner delivered for our audience.

Number 6

SHOCKINGLY, MORE WOMEN COME OUT AS NOT HARASSED BY WEINSTEIN  by Graham J Noble

With an uncanny wit and style that the British seem to have cornered the market on, author Graham J Noble took satire to a new level; as such our readers responded in prodigious numbers. If you find you need a laugh, give this one a read. It won’t disappoint.

Number 5

THE BUNDY VERDICT: TWO POINTS OF VIEW  by Kit Perez & Leesa K. Donner

Kit and I teamed up with what would be our first Point-Counterpoint article on LN. Cliven Bundy and the many travails that resulted from the famed Bunkerville stand-off proved to be the hottest topic on our site this year; perhaps because very few others in the media gave it the time of day.

Number 4

PARTIAL VERDICT ANNOUNCED IN THE FIRST BUNDY RANCH TRIAL  by Kit Perez

When the first Bundy trial ended in a mistrial, Liberty Nation was all over it. Still, there were additional rulings, and Ms. Perez had the scoop early and in detail. If you have followed the story of this Nevada rancher and his run-in with the Bureau of Land Management, you will definitely want to give this insightful article a read.

Number 3

LOIS LERNER’S CHRISTMAS GIFT FROM JUDICIAL WATCH  by Leesa K. Donner

She’s baaack! Let’s face it, Americans don’t like injustice, and they especially detest two tiers of justice – one for the have’s, and one for the have not’s. Thus, Ms. Lerner’s case has captured the attention of our astute Liberty Nation audience. We don’t plan to stop writing about a former federal employee who seemed to skate following her curious actions as former director of the Exempt Organizations Unit of the IRS. So, stay tuned.

Number 2

ANTIFA: NATIONWIDE ANTI-TRUMP RALLY ON NOV. 4  by James Fite

If we had to categorize the stories our readers found themselves captivated by in large numbers, we would have to say, Bundy, Lerner, and Antifa led the pack. In this article, James Fite chronicled the many and varied plans of the Resistance in general and Antifa, in particular. When Antifa said, “Welcome to the Revolution,” Jim gave our readers the low down.

Number 1

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA IS DOUBLING DOWN ON DUMB  by James V. Capua – LN Contributor

Even before the tragic events that occurred in Charlottesville, VA, our man on the ground James Capua had all the news that no one else wanted to print. With his usual brilliant and acerbic wit, Mr. Capua’s article caught fire – not just with LN readers – but with those in and around the Charlottesville area who kept sharing and sharing his insights. If you want to know the run-up to the storm, you’ll want to give this one a read.

But before we tie up 2017 in a nice neat bow, there were a few other articles that came in just behind our Liberty Nation top ten — and both happen to be from author Jeff Charles. This comes as no surprise as Mr. Charles is one of our most prolific authors.  As such you’ll want to add these two excellent articles to your 2018 reading list: The Fuss over Red Pill Black & Social Autopsy and Conservatives Launch #StopTheScalpingCampaign to Protect their Own.

So, there you have it.  And as we turn the page to 2018, we want to give a special shout-out to our intelligent and loyal readers. We couldn’t have done it without you!
