Kamala Wins Guam – But It’s Not Great News for Her

The results are in from Guam, and while Kamala Harris has won 49.46% to Trump’s 46.22%, this does not bode well for the Democrat hopeful. Guam’s results do not count towards the Electoral College and are treated more as an unofficial straw poll. Notably, in 2020, Joe Biden won Guam by 13 points; now, Harris has won by just three points. If this is indicative of a trend, it could be a very tough night for the Harris/Walz ticket.

Battle for the Battlegrounds

There are 43 states that are considered reasonably safe turf for either former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris. The remaining seven swing states will most likely be where the election is decided.

The candidates need 270 Electoral College votes to win the presidency. Here is where most pollsters assume they stand:

States including solid, likely and leaning.

As you can see, the states without a color fill are the swing states. Their EC vote totals with the very latest polling aggregate are:

  • Michigan – 15 votes, Trump +0.2%
