On May 25, police in Minneapolis, MN responded to reports of gunshots close to the spot where George Floyd died exactly one year ago. Following the shooting, a car was spotted leaving the scene at what Minneapolis Police Department spokesman John Elder described as “a high rate of speed.”
One witness said that the shooting appeared to have followed an argument over parking.
Shortly after the incident, one individual was treated for a gunshot wound at a local hospital. The injury was reported as not life-threatening. The Associated Press earlier reported that as many as 30 shots were heard near what is known as George Floyd square in Minneapolis.
