Welcome to the “Lunacy on the Left” column where Liberty Nation highlights the published comments and arguments made from the left-wing point of view on the issues of the day. Each week, we will showcase the opinions of the leftist establishment media outlets, Democratic politicians, and other prominent figures on the left. In short, we wade through the morass of leftist lunacy, so you don’t have to.
The far left was out in full force last week — engaging in mob tactics, attacking White House advisor Stephen Miller, and slamming white women. These stories demonstrate the cluelessness of many progressives when it comes to their behavior. Unfortunately, it does not appear that they will learn their lesson anytime soon.
Media Denies Existence Of Mobs
Over the past year, far-left activists have tried to further their agenda by doing what they do best: Act like spoiled children. These less than intrepid individuals seem to believe that throwing mass tantrums is the best way to get the American public to hear them. This was especially true during the hubbub over newly-appointed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
When Christine Ford went public with her shaky allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh, protesters went into a frenzy. They harassed Senator Ted Cruz and his family at a restaurant among other antics. After Kavanaugh was confirmed, they stormed the doors of the Supreme Court, attempting to open them. One activist even used her children as political props when she confronted Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy at Capitol Hill.
When President Trump commented on the behavior of the far left, calling them an “angry mob,” progressive activists disguised as members of the press pushed back, claiming that these were normal protesters. CNN’s Brooke Baldwin challenged the assertion that progressive activists are engaging in mob tactics. “A mob is what we saw in Charlottesville, Virginia, two Augusts ago.”
But what would an op-ed for The Huffington Post be without some race baiting?
CNN’s Don Lemon also joined in. During a heated argument with conservative commentator Matt Lewis, Lemon claimed that these individuals were not engaging in mob behavior, “No, it’s not mob behavior,” he whined, “It’s people who are upset, and they’re angry with the way the country is going.”
Apparently, members of the press seem to believe that groups of activists shouting down politicians don’t constitute a mob — unless they are conservatives.
Media Smears Stephen Miller
Last week, it appears there was not enough going on in the world of the news, so The Hollywood Reporter, along with The Washington Post, as well as The Huffington Post decided that they would publish stories discussing Trump advisor Stephen Miller’s years in elementary school. The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Miller’s third-grade teacher, who said the advisor was a messy student “who would eat glue off of his arm.”
The teacher was placed on leave by the school’s administration over concerns that she may have disclosed personal student information. The Huffington Post later corrected their story and issued a statement which read “This story originally centered on the comments from Miller’s third-grade teacher. A public figure’s behavior when they were a child is not by itself newsworthy, and we regret treating it as such.”
This is not the first time progressive news outlets have looked into Miller’s childhood. Perhaps next week they will provide the nation with a riveting report on how he learned to ride a bike when he was a kid.
Feminist Leader Lashes Out At White Women
Feminist leader Tamika Mallory recently wrote an op-ed for The Huffington Post in which she attacked white women for supporting Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. She singled out Republican Senator Susan Collins for not voting against Kavanaugh’s confirmation:
“Last week, Sen. Susan Collins doubled down on white supremacy and patriarchy in America. Women and survivors of all genders will never forgive her for it.”
It’s safe to say that Mallory is pretty upset with Collins. But she also lashes out at white women, saying “We’ve seen the system (and white women) fail us over and over again.”
But what would an op-ed for The Huffington Post be without some race baiting? Mallory also argued that “the people typically impacted by automatic criminalization are not white conservative men.”
This is not the first instance in which a progressive journalist attacked white women over Kavanaugh’s confirmation. The New York Times recently published a piece echoing Mallory’s sentiments. It’s worth pointing out that white women were not the only ones to support the notion of due process for Kavanaugh.
In a recent piece, journalist Jemele Hill lamented the fact that many black men believed the justice deserved to be considered innocent until proven guilty. Both women miss the point that if black men are more likely to be falsely accused of a crime, it makes sense that they would overwhelmingly support due process, instead of convicting someone without sufficient evidence.
The Left Exposed
It is obvious that the far left just can’t help themselves. They have yet to realize that their constant race baiting and mob antics are only alienating those they wish to influence. But, at least their behavior is entertaining! Tune in next week for the latest installment of Leftist Lunacy.
