When it comes to political comedy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the gift that keeps on giving. Each week, Liberty Nation uncovers the blunders that keep us wondering: How did she ever get elected?
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was back at it again with even more political hilarity to entertain the masses. This week, she was targeted by a video she claimed was racist because of course she did. Then, she made a rather stunning accusation against the Trump administration and went toe-to-toe with the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Outrage Over Burning AOC
Recently, New Faces GOP, a Republican-affiliated PAC, put out a video warning of the dangers of socialism. The video featured founder Elizabeth Heng, a former California GOP congressional candidate. The video first shows a picture of Ocasio-Cortez, as Heng says, “This is the face of socialism and ignorance.”
Then, a flame burns the picture away, revealing images from the Cambodian Civil War. Heng, who is Asian American, continues to narrate, “Does Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez know the horrors of socialism? My father was minutes from death in Cambodia before a forced marriage saved his life. That’s socialism: Forced obedience. Starvation. Mine is a face of freedom. My skin is not white. I’m not outrageous, racist, nor socialist. I’m a Republican.”
Naturally, the advertisement caused a wave of faux outrage in leftist circles, many calling for a boycott of ABC News, who first aired the video. AOC tweeted:
“Republicans are running TV ads setting pictures of me on fire to convince people they aren’t racist.
Life is weird!”
Leave it to AOC to bring racism into a situation where it is not warranted. But Heng responded with a tweet of her own:
“Not Republicans. Me. Are you really calling me a racist
@aoc
? I’m calling all Democrats out for supporting an evil ideology. Or are you just in Congress to hang out with celebrities and tweet out ridiculous ideas like the green new deal?”
Creating a video in which the face of a member of Congress is burned might not have been the best of ideas, but AOC’s race-baiting reaction prevented any sympathy she might have gained from anyone who isn’t on the far left.
Killing Illegal Immigrants?
The topic at hand was the White House’s decision to cease considering requests from illegal aliens to stay in the country to receive medical treatment. The representative gave a rational, coherent, and cogent criticism of the president’s move that she backed up with facts and data. Just kidding.
Instead, AOC decided to get hysterical. “This is a cruel policy change and this fits a pattern that we have been seeing over and over again before this committee of a culture and policies specifically, almost animated by cruelty,” she said. Of course, the young lawmaker didn’t bother to provide a shred of evidence because being a leftist in Congress means never having to substantiate one’s claims.
AOC vs. ICE
Ocasio-Cortez went head-to-head with former ICE Director Tom Homan during another hearing. The exchange became so animated that the lawmaker had to bang her gavel when his time expired. It happened during a meeting between the House Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and the ICE Director.

Tom Homan
The subject of the hearing was the same as the previously-mentioned meeting: the president’s decision regarding illegals and medical treatment. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MN) took a stab at Homan first, stating that under his leadership, ICE was “ruthless and inhumane.”
When it was his turn to speak, Homan pulled no punches with Tlaib and Ocasio-Cortez, who have both called for the abolition of ICE. “I want to address the last comments [from Tlaib] about me being appalling and first of all, I served my country for 34 years. I saved many lives and I ran an agency — let’s be frank on what ICE did. ICE took opioids off this street that could have killed every man and woman and child in the United States twice,” he said.
But Homan was just getting warmed up. He excoriated the two lawmakers, saying: “I find it appalling that a woman of Congress would do that. I have never seen hate toward a law enforcement agency that you want to abolish.”
What does AOC have in store for us next week? Tune in to find out!
