When it comes to political comedy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the gift that keeps on giving. Each week, Liberty Nation uncovers the blunders that keep us wondering: How did she ever get elected?
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is in trouble. The upcoming Census report might put her seat in jeopardy. But that hasn’t stopped her from pushing her agenda. In fact, she, and her colleagues in The Squad believe that they can make their far-left policies more mainstream. The word “delusional” comes to mind, but let’s take a look.
Will AOC’s Love for Open Borders Cost Her?
For those of you who enjoy a bit of good ol’ fashioned schadenfreude, it looks like AOC’s seat could be in jeopardy due to the latest Census report. As you might already know, open borders policies are not just intended to help the poor and disenfranchised in other countries, they are also meant to give the Democrats an electoral advantage. But in AOC’s case, it appears to be backfiring.
The City, a New York publication, brought to light the possibility that the lawmaker’s district might be undercounted due to the high number of non-citizens. Her district has the highest percentage in the state. What this means is that the lack of citizens in AOC’s district could result in her seat being eliminated due to redistricting.
The state of New York is already projected to lose one seat in Congress due to the census report. Perhaps this is why AOC and her ilk have opposed the Trump administration’s proposal to include the citizenship question in the survey. She knows this would result in progressive districts and states losing the electoral power that illegal immigration gives them. It’s likely yet another reason they have called for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency tasked with removing illegal aliens from the country.
One might wonder if AOC has any regret now for her open borders support. Of course, as a young socialist in America, if she does lose her seat, she can just blame it on racism.
What does AOC have in store for us next week? Tune in to find out!
