When it comes to political comedy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the gift that keeps on giving. Each week, Liberty Nation uncovers the blunders that keep us wondering: How did she ever get elected? …empty platitudes, alarmism, race baiting, and pie-in-the-sky policies have failed to win people over.
This week was chock full of hilarious antics from our favorite socialist next to Bernie Sanders. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) narrated a brand spanking new video that is sure to persuade the American public to embrace socialism. She also managed to get on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s bad side. Lastly, AOC publicly embraced a boycott against a newspaper that dared to criticize her close friend and ally, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
Ocasio-Cortez’s “Message from the Future”
Ocasio-Cortez recently co-created and narrated a video in which the future United States has implemented the policies outlined in the Green New Deal. The premise is that, since her version of America bought into the ridiculous program, the world’s population did not perish in a gigantic inferno that consumed the Earth. She explains how the country managed to use trains as the primary method of transportation and retrofit every single building. Naturally, because the U.S. acted, the world was saved. Yay!
“It’s often said you can’t be what you can’t see,” she states. “I think there was something similar with the Green New Deal. We knew that we needed to save the planet and that we had all the technology to do it, but people were scared. They said it was too big, too fast, not practical. I think that’s because they just couldn’t picture it yet.” Then, AOC doubled down on her assertion that the world will end in 12 years if America doesn’t adopt the ideas laid out in the Green New Deal. “Twelve years to change everything,” she said, “before hundreds of millions of people would be more likely to face food and water shortages, poverty, and death.”
But this won’t happen in AOC’s new American utopia because the nation will have managed to make air travel irrelevant and mitigate the impact of cow farts. “It was a true turning point. Lots of people gave up. They said we were doomed,” she imagines, before the nation, “launched the decade of the Green New Deal, a flurry of legislation that kicked off our social and ecological transformation to save the planet.”
The video was a crowning achievement when it comes to exposing socialism for the insane ideology that it is. Great work, AOC.
Pelosi Slaps Down AOC
Despite the establishment media’s desperate attempts to elevate the young lawmaker, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is still having trouble getting support from the rest of the Democratic Party. For some reason, empty platitudes, alarmism, race baiting, and pie-in-the-sky policies have failed to win people over. Go figure.
But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was the latest high-profile Democrat to criticize Ocasio-Cortez and her band of merry socialists. In an interview on CBS News’ 60 Minutes, Pelosi made fun of AOC and the other fresh faces in the Democratic Party. When the host brought up the young progressive cabal, Pelosi dismissively said, “That’s like, five people,” and intimated that she’s the real progressive.
This isn’t the only time that Pelosi has mocked AOC. Earlier in the month, while speaking to the London School of Economics and Political Science, she lauded Democrats who won difficult midterm elections last year. Then, she turned to those who easily won their elections in deep-blue areas:
“When we won this election, it wasn’t in districts like mine or Alexandria’s. She’s a wonderful member of Congress as I think all of our colleagues will attest. But those are districts that are solidly Democratic.”
She then claimed that a “glass of water would win with a ‘D’ next to its name in those districts.”
What Pelosi failed to mention is that the glass of water would likely do a better job legislating, as well.
AOC: Let’s Boycott New York Post!
Remember when the New York Post published an issue with an image of the 9/11 terror attacks in response to Rep. Ilhan Omar’s “some people did something” comment? Yeah, AOC is still mad about that. When the issue came out, the lawmaker rushed to defend Omar, because of course she did. The representative posted a Tweet in support of a group of Yemeni-American bodega owners who tried to launch a boycott of the newspaper.
Two years ago, Bodega owners across NYC (& cheered by neighbors)shut their shops citywide to protest Trump’s #MuslimBan.
Today, that same community is banding together to reject sales of the NY Post at bodegas citywide.
This is what real unity (& NYC solidarity) looks like ⬇️ https://t.co/mj8vtA4Pv5

She explained her decision in a recent podcast episode published by Yahoo News:
“There’s aggressive politics. There’s people that won’t be fair to you and things like that, and I understand that that’s part of the field that comes with it. But, you know, I think that this is unacceptable.”
That’s right. Ocasio-Cortez supports an action that could potentially bankrupt the newspaper and cause the loss of jobs because they dared to criticize a member of Congress. How very socialist of her.
What does AOC have in store for us next week? Stay tuned for the next installment!
