When it comes to political comedy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the gift that keeps on giving. Each week, Liberty Nation uncovers the blunders that keep us wondering: How did she ever get elected?
She’s at it again! Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was going all-in on her silly musings about socialism and suspect theories. Amid widespread panic over the Coronavirus, AOC weighed in, attempting to use the outbreak to promote her socialist agenda. But that wasn’t all – the lawmaker also made an interesting accusation against former Vice President Joe Biden, who is currently trouncing Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in the primaries.
Biden Is Beating Bernie Because of Voter Suppression?
In her first interview with Fox News – an outlet on which the lawmaker previously said she would not appear – Ms. Ocasio-Cortez discussed the recent primary election in Michigan, which saw Biden soundly defeat Sanders. Fox News anchor Bret Baier asked the representative why she insists that the socialist crowd is delivering a winning message when far-left candidates are failing to secure any significant victories in the primaries.
Ocasio-Cortez had an answer ready: “Well, I think one thing that isn’t being talked about is the rampant voter suppression in this country,” she said. “Right there in Ann Arbor where we had that rally, those kids were waiting three hours in line to vote in Michigan.”
“So, just to be clear, you’re saying you think voters didn’t get to vote who wanted to vote in Michigan?” Baier questioned.
“Absolutely,” AOC asserted. “Obviously, there’s more that we need to do in terms of turning out youth voters, it’s, uh, we need to make sure we are inspiring young people to turn out, but when you do turn out, you should not be waiting three, four, seven hours in order to vote and that causes people to leave.”
Usually, Democrats like Ocasio-Cortez direct allegations of voter suppression at the GOP, but it appears she is willing to use the same attack against the Democratic establishment.
South Korea’s Single-Payer Healthcare Defeating Coronavirus?
As the political brouhaha over the Coronavirus intensifies, Democrats are using the disease to smear President Trump. Ocasio-Cortez has followed suit, joining the crowd of SJW voices in throwing accusations of racism at those who refer to the illness as the “Wuhan virus.” But the lawmaker managed to take it a step further, using it to promote single-payer healthcare.
She tweeted: “Want to know one major reason why South Korea has had stellar rapid response and quickly produced & scaled up to 10k+ tests/day? They have a single payer, #MedicareForAll system. We don’t. Please remember why it’s so important for us to fight for healthcare as a human right.”
That’s right, folks. AOC thinks that South Korea’s response to the outbreak was because of their socialized medicine system. But, can you think of another country that has a similar healthcare program that isn’t doing so well with the Coronavirus?
If you’re thinking of Italy, you’re absolutely right. The nation’s hospitals are quickly running out of beds and may soon deny care to elderly citizens due to limited resources. The country’s government has resorted to quarantining the northern region to prevent the spread of the illness.
Moreover, the testing kits that South Korea uses are manufactured by a private company – they waived the typical regulations they would place on this type of organization to deal with the crisis. Put simply, AOC is wrong again.
