When it comes to political comedy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the gift that keeps on giving. Each week, Liberty Nation uncovers the blunders that keep us wondering: How did she ever get elected?
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has once again provided a week full of political comedy to entertain the sane masses. This week, she was caught making more factually questionable statements about Customs and Border Protection. After vehemently denying that her comparison of concentration camps to migrant detention centers had nothing to do with Nazi Germany, she claimed that the U.S. is becoming a fascist nation. And sadly, some of her fans allegedly put an end to one of the most hilarious A-O-C satire artists.
Opposing Arguments on Toilet Water
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, along with several of her colleagues in Congress, visited Customs and Border Protection facilities ostensibly to learn about the conditions there. Of course, the real purpose of the trip was to identify ways they could smear those working with the agency, but what else would you expect?
After her visit to a Texas facility, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted a flurry of complaints about the conditions in which migrant women were living. One of her complaints centered on a woman who was allegedly told to drink water from the toilet in her cell. “Officers were keeping women in cells w/ no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets,” she tweeted.
But it appears that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez may have been massaging the truth a bit. A CBP agent familiar with the situation told The Washington Examiner that the representative is misrepresenting the actual story:
“So this is what happened with the migrant and drinking water from toilet: She wanted water, didn’t know how to use the faucet in the cell and drank from the toilet. She never told A-O-C that we made her drink from the toilet.”
There you have it. Ocasio-Cortez’s claims were refuted by others who were present, and none of her colleagues have backed up her statements, showing that her accusations were just as empty as that false photo shoot she held at a detention center last year.
America Approaching Fascism?
Remember when she sent a series of tweets comparing migrant detention centers to concentration camps and then claimed that she wasn’t implying that America resembles Nazi Germany? Well, it looks like the young socialist is going all in on the Nazi narrative.
In an interview with Yahoo News, the lawmaker gave a dire warning about where the country is headed because of President Donald Trump. “Are we headed to fascism? Yes. I don’t think there’s a question,” she said.
As usual, she pointed to the detention centers as proof of her silly assertion. “If you actually take the time to study, and to look at the steps, and to see how government transforms under authoritarian regimes, and look at the political decisions and patterns of this president, the answer is yes.”
One might be tempted to think that Ocasio-Cortez actually believes that the Trump administration’s approach to illegal immigration somehow mirrors that of the Nazi party’s rise in Germany. But like other progressives who enjoy using Hitler to attack the president, she is well aware of the fact that there is nothing resembling fascism being implemented by President Trump. Indeed, using Hitler has become nothing more than a cynical political tactic that only works with those who already believe every word that comes out of the lawmaker’s mouth.
No More Mini-A.O.C
This next incident does not involve Ocasio-Cortez personally, but it seems that even her fans are capable of some of the same totalitarian-esque behavior of their favorite socialist. Mini A-O-C, which was a family-run Twitter account that posted satirical videos poking fun at Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, has been removed from the social media platform.
The family of the young girl who plays Mini A-O-C decided to leave the platform after receiving death threats for posting hilarious videos mocking the young lawmaker. The account had recently posted a video making fun of Ocasio-Cortez’s fake photo shoot.
The video showed the young satirist standing outside a fenced park pretending to be upset at the park’s closure. “Every time I plan a visit to the park, it’s closed,” the caption says. “Can everyone see how sad this makes me?”
Twitter has removed parody accounts that focus on Rep. Ocasio-Cortez in the past, but this appears to be the first time that individuals have cowed a person into deleting an account through death threats. “The Left’s harassment and death threats have gone too far for our family,” Salvatore Schachter, the young girl’s stepfather tweeted. “For our safety and for our child’s safety, we deleted all Mini A-O-C accounts.”
The lawmaker has not commented on this story, but to be fair, it is likely that she is not aware of the occurrence. Still, it is yet another demonstration of the cultural totalitarianism of the hard left, which can’t stomach the thought of its political heroes being mocked.
What does A-O-C have in store for us next week? Tune in to find out!
