Editor’s Note: From the Back Forty is Liberty Nation’s longest running and most popular weekly column. Capturing the truth each week from heartlanders in flyover states, LN gives voice to the hard-working Americans otherwise ignored by the coastal elites.
There is no lack of liberal fodder to make fun of, or to use to point out layers of hypocrisy and slam the activist media for failure to cover it – or an unhealthy combination of the two. Heartlanders, who pray for their enemies to get their collective dysfunctional feces in order, are eloquently – and, at times, ineloquently – lashing out to get their pound of flesh on the current state of the union. In a sense, you can only irritate the good folks in flyover states so long before suffering the consequences.
Hypocrisy of the Activist Media
After numerous innocents were subjected to the wrath of unchecked “protesters” – also known as rioters, looters, and arsonists – after the police shooting of Jacob Blake, one young man stood trial for assault and murder this week. On Aug. 25, 2020, in Kenosha, WI, then 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse fatally shot two and injured one protester in what he said was self-defense. After seven days of testimony, young Rittenhouse took the stand and cried, prompting liberals to lose their minds.
From the sage political strategist and self-proclaimed knower of all things, LeBron James, to commentators of the radical daytime talk show that does not appear to believe in facts, The View, his tears were looked upon as “fake” news.
Conservatives had a thing or two to say.
Steven Crowder tweeted: “if you accuse Kyle Rittenhouse of ‘faking tears’ for being forced to relive the trauma of having to shoot armed child rapists and arsonists, but claim PTSD from being called the wrong pronouns … you are an a—hole.”
Andrew McDowell, a native of Georgia, pointed out the obvious: “The left: ‘oh boys need to show emotion.’ Also, the left: ‘Look at that little liar cry.’”
Also, down south, musician and patriot Adam Lee Marcus, who has watched the trial and thinks before opening his trap, commented: “He represents everyday American citizens in that he is absolutely fed up with all the bull—-.” That brought a tsunami of those who hadn’t watched a single minute of the trial to blabber the old standby word “racist” nearly uncontrollably. Marcus edited his comment to enlighten the ignorant: “Edit: The ‘he’ refers to the judge. The judge represents all fed-up Americans. I realize many didn’t fully understand my statement and made an assumption. Seems to be a hallmark of a modern Democrat.”
Flyover folks sniggered (look it up) at that rebuke.
The Not So Modern Democrat That Embarrasses the USA Daily
Joe Biden: that old scrappy guy from Scranton who once referred to his former boss, Barack Obama, as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” Yep, that’s the same Joe Biden who was besties back in the day and credited a professional mentorship with Ku Klux Klan leader Sen. Robert Byrd. Joe Biden, the same guy who fought against desegregation, claiming that integrating would cause his children to “grow up in a racial jungle.”
And this is the guy that apparently 81 million or so thought could unite the country after the worst summer of racially charged violence in 50 years.
Well, he did it again. This week at a Veteran’s Day memorial event at Arlington National Cemetery, the man strayed off script and allowed Americans to see the underbelly of a racist past in 2021. The video has gone viral, and be sure to look for it, as the activist media are busy burying the entire account:
“I just want to tell you, I know you’re a little younger than I am, but I’ve adopted the attitude of the great Negro at the time, pitcher in the Negro leagues, went on to become a great pitcher in the pros, major league baseball, after Jackie Robinson. His name was Satchel Paige.”
Back when Obama was in the Oval Office signing stuff, Biden’s old boss passed a policy that no person in the federal government could say “negro.”
And for the last word, we now circle back to Leona Dyer in Wisconsin, who simply says: “This is a good teaching video captioned: THIS IS HOW A BIGOT THINKS.”
