Republicans are accusing search engine and email company Google of depriving its candidates of much-needed campaign donations by flagging most of their fundraising emails as spam. These claims are based on a North Carolina University study showing that Gmail, the company’s email platform, allows the overwhelming majority of emails sent by Democratic Party candidates to reach users’ inboxes while marking nearly two-thirds of GOP emails as spam, meaning that the intended recipients weren’t likely to see them.
