Georgia Democrats Vote for the Wrong Sandra Bullock

by | May 31, 2018 | Media, Narrated News

Sandra Bullock ran for office and won! No, not that Sandra Bullock, the actress who starred in such blockbuster movies as Miss Congeniality, Speed, and The Blind Side. This Bullock is from Georgia and, it seems, she won just because of her name being linked to America’s Sweetheart. Now, what does that tell us about voters, Democrats in particular? Oh, and incidentally, she dropped out of the race shortly after winning, citing health issues.

Sandra Bullock – Georgia

Bullock is a 54-year-old retired Georgia Tech database administrator. After watching the Women’s March in January 2017, she said she was inspired to run for office. But she never expected to win.

“I’m just an unknown Democrat who is passionate,” Bullock said. “I really didn’t think I’d get this far. I’m a little overwhelmed, but I’m a quick learner as well. I’m good at figuring out solutions to problems.”

Bullock did absolutely nothing to promote herself or her platform, which she said focused on education, strengthening computer security, and gay rights. She didn’t go door to door, hand out flyers, make phone calls or take out ads in the newspaper. Still, she won 58% of the vote, beating shocked opponent Erick Allen, who had a few remarks to add:

“I was not planning to lose to a ghost candidate,” he said, adding: “I find it very hard to believe [the votes were casted] off of an informed decision.”

On Facebook, he wrote: “We have to have a serious discussion about voter education and engagement.”

The strong consensus is that Bullock won strictly because of her name association.

“I have no explanation for it other than name identification,” said Kerwin Swint, a political science professor at Kennesaw State University. “Some of the most important factors of them all are name recognition and incumbency.”

Even Bullock seemed to agree:

“I thought, let’s see what my silly name will do, and I won!” Bullock said. “Apparently, name recognition and voting for Democratic women counts for a lot.”

And isn’t that just an absolutely terrifying thought? Perhaps actress Bullock should remake The Blind Side into The Blind Voter.  It could even fall into the horror movie genre.  What do voters actually know about the actress’s political standings anyway? One parent was a Democrat and the other a Republican, but Bullock herself never specifies:

Sandra Bullock – Actress

“I don’t like to talk about personal things. … And by keeping it private, you have a better shot at a healthy relationship. I learned at a young age that there are certain things you just don’t talk about.”

So, not only are these “blind” voters choosing an unknown Democratic woman with a famous name, they don’t even have a clue what political standings belong to that famous name. Idiocy.

Georgia seems to be the hotspot for politicians with famous names running for office.  Republican Sen. John F. Kennedy of Macon and Republican Rep. John Carson of Marietta are two incumbent state legislators.  Then there is Viola Davis, who beat state Rep. Coach Williams. Williams had been in office since 2003. Davis admitted she probably got some of the votes just because of her named being linked with the Oscar-winning Davis, but unlike Sandra Bullock, Davis actually worked hard and pounded the pavement to work for her votes.

We have a serious problem here, folks. If voters, like those in Georgia, base their decisions only on names, what’s to stop someone from changing their name to Abraham Lincoln to win an election? And with the craziness from the left, they’d vote for the name usurper without even realizing he may be a neo-Nazi who wants all people with brown eyes exterminated, or some other horrendous, radical agenda.

While it may be something to chuckle about – someone wining an election just because of their name – it’s a very serious matter that highlights the crazy political divide we have in America today. The left will do anything to keep a Republican out of office, even if it means voting for someone they know nothing about. Even when they don’t even know that person’s political background or platform. These are scary times indeed.
