When the silent majority cannot decide whether to laugh or cry, Democrats may well want to pay attention. As they say, excrement got real this week. From Kanye West declaring his intent to run for president to Joe Biden being unable to stop using the word “intercourse” and Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) calling for the dismantlement of the U.S. economy and political system, normal people pert near had enough.
And while it takes time to rattle the folks hard at work and minding their Ps and Qs, all the polite Mid-Western flyover folks had their mettle put to the test.
What Is He Doing and Why?
On America’s Independence Day, former – or perhaps still –supporter of President Donald Trump took to Twitter to toss his MAGA cap into the race for president. His words were oh-so inspiring. “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!”
Kayne listed his advisers as wife Kim Kardashian, the woman famous only for being famous, and brick throwing mogul Elon Musk. Musk, oh yes, he is a guy that should be able to get to know the common man. Nevertheless, the media cautiously gave in to determining Kanye’s platform. And in an interview with Forbes, he let it fly like a parrot with un-clipped wings:
“Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.”
Citing a Life Issues Research paper, West said “that 102 out of 165, or 62% of the Planned Parenthood abortion facilities are located in areas with relatively high African American populations, or in ‘targeted neighborhoods.’” He may not be too far afield. But he also just irritated all sorts of folks he would want to rally behind the unlikely candidate in support of his campaign. But again, Kim and Elon don’t really have the political chops for a strategic campaign. And that led flyover folks to look beyond the veil to see for themselves what the billionaire rapper had up his diamond encrusted sleeve.
It was a farmer from Kansas who noted: “Kanye is dumb like a fox. He will divert votes for Joe Biden. He is a MAGA man who is thinking outside the box.” “Crazy like a fox,” said Ken Kyker in Mountain Brook, AL. “I’m no fan of his music but he may just deplete Biden voters.” Crazy and dumb for the win.
But Milwaukee resident Kathryn Clarke could not hold her sharp tongue and went on an epic rant (edited for mean stuff, extreme length, and to include punctuation):
“I could not care less what he and his clan of morally corrupt have to say about anything. They all have the morals of alley cats — any Tom will do — flit from man to man and only use their money to change their bodies and buy $1000 dollar shoes for their kids they sure are not helping those that need help. Yes, Planned Parenthood is evil and those people who run it … Will have them answer to God for what they have done … all I can say is God have mercy on all of us because we are not all like that.”
Oh, you can bet your sweet bippy heartlanders were on a tear.
Get Out!
Flyover folks do not like – at all – Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. This week, the dislike escalated into calls for deportation – and those were just about the nicest of them. Ms. Omar had a busy week, from calling for defunding of police to demanding it was time to take America down to nothing: No Constitutional Republic, no economy, just willy-nilly sharia law enforced paradise. It went over as expected.
Texan Glen Dikes was the calmest: “Because of what is in my heart and in whom I FOLLOW, I will not share what I truly feel SHOULD be said. Out of kindness, she should be removed from any part of government. We have more hate mongers than we need! Vote her out!”
But there was another sentiment afoot – and was much more supported. From North Carolina, Donald LaMontagne offered, “That women does not deserve to walk on American soil, vote her out!” And one spunky gal in Chicago simply said, “It’s that woman has a come to Allah meeting – before her deportation hearing.”
Heavy Sigh
The final two major bones of contention in flyover country were inspired by the man who may or may not be all there and that damn little bug that seems to come back around whenever the economy tries to bounce back.
“The pandemic is that this president has no intercourse whatsoever,” mumbled and stumbled former Vice President Joe Biden on MSNBC, making the rounds again as the deadly virus is once again finding its way to cities that had hosted BLM riots and protests. It’s different now, several weeks after Joe’s original slip of the tongue – the silent majority has lost that “bless his heart” concern. Instead, demanding he just go away and take that blasted killer bug with him. In the words of one frustrated patriot, “This was supposed to be over in June. We’ve been Julyed to.”
